Nice reliable printer
I like this printer. It's slow but reliable. I found it much easier to connect to the home Wi-Fi than my previous printer. It does take a long time to print stuff and probably not the best choice for an office setting, that needs continuous output, but for occasional home use it's fine. The color touch screen is easy to see and understand. My previous printer had a small back lit screen that was impossible to see in bright daylight, and at night I had to shine a flashlight on it. I also like the fact that the printer screen is centered. My old printer had a screen all the way to the left, which limited placement options. Also, to my surprise, ink was easy to get and not that expensive. For the price, this printer has many options only available on much more expensive models. The trade-off is how slowly it prints. Also, a side note, before trying to connect this printer to the Wi-Fi in your home network, delete all remnants of the previous printer from your computer and phone. I did this, and it connected first time to Wi-Fi. I had to download all the back-up soft wear, new drivers etc. and start from scratch, but that was OK because I got zero glitches along the way and the printer continues to run smoothly.

Nice lower cost printer with easy setup
I purchased this printer because I needed a fairly low cost all-in-one. I don't print that often but when I do I've had network connectivity issues with an HP printer and an older brother printer. This one seemed to be just what I needed. Setup was very easy and straight forward. Basically remove some tape used to secure the printer during shipping, install the ink cartridges, and run a print head alignment. The process was seamless. Once the printer was ready to go I finished setup from my laptop. I now have no issues printing and am very happy.

Way overpriced.
After spending 3 hours reviewing Epson & Canon, I decided on the Canon. My last Epson lasted 8 years, but most of their new models only had a 3.0 - 3.9 star rating now. This model had a 4.0 star rating but a lot of 1 star ratings. I’m giving it 4 stars because it does work well but, for the high price of $194, I expected a much better unit. Many reviewers said they had a lot of problems connecting up the WiFi to their computer or phone. This one was no different. I had so much trouble and was unsuccessful at it, that I just plugged in the ethernet cable to my laptop!PROS: It prints nice clear photos and documents. The touch screen is bright, clear and not complicated. The paper tray holds about 50 pages. Plenty for me.It's a very quiet unit when setting up and printing.CONS:This one just felt cheap. The input & output paper trays are made of very thin plastic. Handle them gently.Installing the ink cartridges was a chore because the cover barely opens high enough to get my hands inside to snap them in. It’s dark in there and hard to see since everything is black plastic. The front panel containing the touch screen is vertical but it can be tilted up flat so you can read it. The problem is that it doesn’t lock in place so, when I touch the screen, it falls back down to the vertical position. I have to hold it with one hand and touch it with the other. Really Canon? No one else, in your quality control group caught this?I looked online for “Canon customer support” and I got some guy in India who barely spoke English. After 10 minutes of him wanting to take over my computer and sell me some spyware remover, I hung up on him. I reported the website and the next day it was gone from the search engine. Be careful folks!Everything today is done through “apps”, but I DO NOT use them! They allow the company to spy on you, then flood you with ads! Because of that, I have no way to make adjustments for the print quality. NOT GOOD! The first photos I printed were good, but a “lighter/darker” adjustment should have been included ON the touch screen. The ink cartridges have a breather hole on top and, when I opened them and laid them down on my desk, they all leaked. Be sure to: Wear latex gloves, open them ONE AT A TIME and AFTER you have the printer open and ready to accept each cartridge. When printing on both sides of a paper, it pauses for 15 seconds before printing on the 2nd side. That's really slow. This printer is an $80 printer at best, so it better last me a few years.

WORST PRINTER & PHONE APP EVER!!
This will be my very first 1 star review, but I cannot help myself.I spend days and weeks researching every printer I've ever bought. I was in a bit of a hurry and only spent a few hours looking around before deciding on this one. HUGE mistake. The reason it is affordable is because it's not even worth the current price.I already own a strictly for photos printer and needed something for my home office/personal use. Canon has done good by me and the past, and it was at least 4 stars, so should be fine, right? SO Wrong. The set up was fairly simple but getting my phone connected to it was a straight nightmare. Even after it successfully connected, it consistently gave me a no "no printer available" warning the entire 1.5 hours I spent on it.1.5 hours to print ONE document. The app is absolutely trash. Seriously the worst, slowest, least user friendly device app I have ever encountered, printer or otherwise. It took FOR-EV-ER every single time I selected any option the made the app connect to the printer. Every single time, ever single option I chose. Even selecting "Printer Status" took over 7 minutes to simple tell me it was online. But the best part was the quality, for sure. I needed to print a single document. Just 1. It took me over an hour to print a just halfway decent copy. The black ink look ash gray in the first few copies, and not very black by 6 (the aforementioned halfway decent print which i decided to accept and be done).I got a "Printer Block"error, after error, over and over and over again, with no block to be found anywhere. The last copy I printer was no even very good, let alone great. The ink was dull and much more gray then black. I was able to FINALLY remove the page borders the printer kept inserting despite the settings corrections I did MULTIPLE times, but the only way I got them removed was through a third party app that adjusted the dimensions. In other words it dumbed it down so even this garbage printer couldn't justify another useless copy.I almost never leave bad reviews, but I could not live with myself if I didn't warn any future possible buyers to TURN BACK.Oh and after 5 copies my ink was almost halfway gone, just for the cherry on top.If you are considering giving this device a chance, one more time, It is a TRICK, Don't do it!
