Very impressed with the quality vs cost

This knife showed me what it means to have a sharp knife! I immediately realized that I needed to sharpen all my old knives. The only drawback is that it’s not flat ground but it is solid and has a nice beefy handle.

Very sharp knife. I use with special cut-resistant gloves and I think you will be happier to do the same, since they're comfortable and will protect when you slip.

This knife is very affordable but will require some work and sharpening skills to make it a good knife. My knife had a rough sharpening which was probably sharpened on a belt sander. You can see deep uniformed grooves down to the apex on both sides. This in turn leaves micro cuts on the carved wood. In addition, a dull knife requires more force to cut through wood. If your sharpening skills are adequate, you can spend some time starting with a medium grit stone and work your way up to finer stones to acquire a mirror-like polish that slices wood. The blade is very thick which also contributes to more friction for your cuts. Lastly, the bulk of the handle makes the grip uncomfortable. If your sharpening skills have some basic tools, you can reshape the handle to your liking. In my opinion, I would spend the extra money and get a better quality knife.

Einem Anfänger fallen daher die ersten Schritte des Schnitzen leicht. Die Klinge ist scharf, das Messer wunderbar geformt. Es macht Spaß dieses Schnitzmesser zu benutzen und etwas Einzigartiges mit ihm zu schnitzen. Die Qualität ist für diesen Preis unschlagbar. Ich war sehr überrascht über die Schärfe der Klinge, das gute Material, die Verarbeitung und die Haltbarkeit. Da die Klinge sehr scharf ist, wird ein Schutz dafür mit geliefert. Echt klasse! Ich selbst bin mehr als begeistert von diesem Schnitzmesser! Es hat echt meine Erwartungen übertroffen. Da ich noch ein Anfänger im Schnitzen bin, kann ich es mit gutem Gewissen für andere Neulinge empfehlen. Bin begeistert 👍💕

Delivery was quick! I'm an experienced carver, but I'm 73 now and don't have the income to replace my top quality knives that I've had for 30 years. They are wearing out so decided to give this BeaverCraft detail knife a try, and have to say I'm more than pleasantly surprised! I stropped the knife before use and started to carve a basswood piece. It was very comfortable in my hand and razor sharp, so much so on both counts that I was able to carve for more than 2 hours without any discomfort or stropping! Normally, I would strop every 15 minutes or so and take a break every hour due to discomfort in my hand and wrist. Overall for the price, quality and design this is a great knife!...Just have to save up for a few more!
