Since it is a permanent usb rechargable battery, what do you do when the battery goes bad? Not if, but when! Can it be swapped out?

I consider myself is a handy guy that like to tinker things. However, I admit that the designer of this led flashlight engineer did a good job to stop customer to DIY repair. As far as I can see some form of tool is needed if someone need to disassemble the flashlight. To be frank, at this moment I have no idea how to do it. There is a couple of flat sections seem to accommodate a wrench tool to unscrew it but it is just my educated guess. This section is next to the zoom slider ring. Right now, I do not like to take it apart unless I am in a nothing to lose situation. It is also obvious to me that the designer does not want the end user to replace the 18650-battery pack themselves because they want you to buy a new one once a while. Do not forget LED flashlight has a long lifetime. Additional information for you a typical 18650 battery has a typical cycle life of 300 - 500 (charge, discharge cycles) so you can figure yourself how long your flashlight will last. If the flashlight use multi 10850 batteries which I suspected, the actual cycle life will be less. For the above reason, I think this is a weak point of the design. I guess it is a business decision of the manufacturer. If you do not like it, do not buy it. But I have to say this flashlight’s performance is awesome for the price.

Queston for the seller: product page says xhp90.2 and shows a 4led array. the unit sent has a single small led w/less power than a xhp70. why?

You may want to reach out to the company. Mine has two different flashlights. One on either side. One is a regular flashlight and the other is a very bright light that I use to let my dog out. You can adjust the diameter of the brightness

What kind of holdster would fit the flashlight at 2.01 x 2.8 x 7.13 inches?

If it's the rechargable one I own, I would not recommend wearing it on a belt holster. It will make wearing pants uncomfortable due to the weight of the flashlight pulling your pants down. But, if you are really set on carrying a flashlight that big in circumference, just look for the size of the holster and ensure it is larger enough for that size flashlight.

I wonder how bright it is? I am very concerned about the brightness of the flashlight.

Absolutely high power flashlight, it's the brightest flashlight I've ever used, the front end can easily light up the street I live in, I think that's definitely not its limit.
