DO NOT BUY - FAULTY DESIGN
I've had a lot of issues with bike thieves where I live, so I decided to get this alarm in the hopes of discouraging anyone from taking my bike. After some trial and error, I discovered that the best place for the alarm (or so I thought) was through the frame and the rear wheel, with the alarm itself resting on the ground. This prevents the alarm from going off (usually) unless someone is messing with the alarm itself. After less than a month of owning this lock, it suddenly wouldn't open. Being attached to my bike, this was a big issue. I thought it had simply seized, so I added some WD40 and tried again. Nope.I decided to try to disassemble the lock, thinking that since I had it disarmed that it'd be a simple matter to just take the back off. I am pleased to say that it's no simple matter. There is a hidden screw in the battery compartment that I didn't notice until now, one that made it all but impossible to take the unit off. So, with some help from a couple of levers, I forcefully pried the thing apart, destroying it in the process. Well, if this saves someone $20 in the future, I guess it's worth it.Upon inspection, it appears that pressing the lock/unlock button engages a motor that's supposed to spin a little doohickey around. This is what keeps the button from being pressed. The problem is, the doohickey is connected to the motor with a simple silicone ring gasket. There's nothing to keep the doohickey in place or to even make it turn. It's easy for the motor to spin without engaging the doohickey. Even if it works perfectly, the gasket is going to wear out relatively quickly, making your lock completely worthless. And (such as happened to me) it could happen while the lock is still on your bike.TL;DR - Lock is designed to fail. DO NOT BUY.

SCARY! In a good and bad way...
This lock was simple to understand and easy to use. However, the noises it makes to confirm settings or to indicate that it is locked are so annoying. Furthermore, if you leave the vibration or motion sense trigger on, IT WILL GO OFF ON YOU while trying to unlock it.

Very loud! And could be perfect - BUT...
Alarm is quite loud. Vibration is also quite sensitive. And, like mentioned in another review of this product, Just touching it during disarming process will activate the alarm and until you complete the process, which takes 3 or 4 seconds, it will continue to scream at you. Very annoying! You can disable the alarm function to eliminate this, but you've defeated half the functionality. Too bad they didn't make this with wireless remote key fob like they do with their combination rear light and alarm product. That would make this product a real winner deserving 5 stars. Would also have preferred a bit longer cable, but it should suffice in most situations.

Would have been 5 stars if the cable could fit through a latch's hole for a lock
Bought 2 to install on a couple of PackRats after someone used bolt-cutters to remove the locks and "rummage" around. UGH! Loved the idea of these, but had to get creative to make them work. The end of the cable wouldn't fit through the latch's hole for a lock, so ended up winding them through a lock -- and confirmed that anyone trying to cut the lock off would also set off the alarm. Yeah! But what a pain each time we had to open and close/relock a container!!!!

Defective Unit and bad idea
The unit I received was defective - the lock would not disengage. I returned it and did not order a replacement - it seems that even if the lock did work, there was aways going to be an interval when during the process during entering a password that the device would make loud sounds. My unit got up to about 113db - pretty loud but not the 120 advertised. What is needed is a device that can be engaged/disengaged with a smartphone or external remote to avoid damage to one's hearing.

Excellent deterrent
After I've had about 10 cables cut by a determined thief who makes an attempt every few months I finally decided to go big and got this plus a massive kryptonite chain and lock. This alarm is a great deterrent, there's really no way to discreetly hack away at the cables with this thing blaring!

Used a few times there it refused to unlock
Can't current get the damn thing to unlock. Batteries are fine. No low battery light is blinking. The alarm still sounds. The cable just will not unlock. So now useless. I'm just glad it wasn't locked to anything.

Appears, the important feature (vibration alarm), must be disabled to use (Shame!)
I had high hopes for these locks! I had to disable the vibration alarm because they kept warning me the alarm was about to sound once the lock was set. The "troubleshooting," says either the battery cover was not "well screwed," or the cable was not inserted into the lock hole "far enough."No guidance on how to refit the battery cover (screws are tight), or install the cable deeper (is inserted to metal stops), won't go any further.
