Cleft Palate Speech is a decent textbook
I haven't read it all yet -- my semester just started. So far I know that this book does not hesitate regarding details. Some chapter sections read almost like an annotated bibliography describing studies in detail. I find it hard to figure out the main point at times, the take home message. Sometimes the section ends with a summary but sometimes it doesn't. When it presents conflicting evidence and doesn't summarize it, that bugs me. Basically though, this is a good textbook.

Great reference
I bought this for a graduate course on craniofacial anomalies as part of a master's program in speech pathology.Clear writing with plenty of illustrations makes this textbook an enjoyable read. The information is laid out quite nicely so any ready can develop a strong understanding of cleft palate and other craniofacial anomalies. Despite the title, the textbook really takes an interdisciplinary approach to teaching about the population to ensure an understanding of all the medical, dental, orthodontic, psychosocial/educational, communicative, etc aspects of craniofacial differences. I've read about three quarters of the book so far, and it's one that I will definitely be keeping as a future reference. Anyone interested in working on a cleft palate team should at least skim this book! The book has quite a few typos, none of which detract from the readability or clarity, I just find them a little distracting.
