This stuff is great for assembling parts that try to fall out of place, due to angle or working upside down under an automatic trans. I used it to hold the check balls in the proper location while I put the valve body back on. It's not a lubricant per say, but rather a thick waxy paste. It dissolves into the ATF oil once you get it running again.

Applied to gearbox needle rollers and other parts to keep in place during assembly. Stiff grease for secure hold making assembly much easier.

I use it while assembling lots of parts for my vehicle, not just the transmission. However I did most recently use it while rebuilding my transmission. It helps to keep things in place like the thrust washers or spacer. Also once the parts are up to operating temp the product will turn into more of a grease and no longer be tacky, it will thin out basically and lubricate your parts. I always have both the green and blue or heavy and light tack.

Didn't know about this product. Used it while rebuilding my Jeep Trans and Transfer Case. Worked better than assembly lube.
