Easy install, worked well.
Worked like a charm. Replaced failed pot-metal hinges on a tea box.

They work well but there are not instructions on proper installation!
Nice hinge for a small box. There are no instructions on how to install these anywhere that I can find either on Amazon, internet or YouTube. These hinges require a substantial chamfer be cut into the lid that passes through the center of the hinge pin for the box to open properly. You may or may not like this look so it's good to know before you buy these. Here is how I installed them: 1. Offset two 4mm holes 1.5mm fro the back of the box. Hole alignment is critical so I actually drilled the holes in the side/rear of the box before I installed box top and bottom of the box so I could achieve that perfect alignment. 2. Glue the top and bottom on the box to covers up the holes so they are hidden. 3. Cut the top off the box. 4. Chamfer the back of the box top and bottom where the hinges get installed a minimum of 45 degrees with the chamfer extending at least to the center of the pin hole. 5. Glue in the pins with small amount of wood glue into the bottom of box. Rotate the pins so that they will bend straight out the back and insert into the holes in the lid. 6. Wipe up any squeeze out, then open and close the box a few times to make sure the alignment is correct and making sure it sits flat. 7. Prop the box slightly open and let the glue dry and you are golden! I also finished the interior of the box and the edges before installing these hinges so the glue wouldn't stick to the box. I did a light sanding after the glue was dry and finished the outside. Be careful not to sand through the back of the box and expose the hinges as there is only 1.5mm of material! Don't ask me how I know...

They break easily
They are a little too delicate, not good for big projects. If you’re doing something small, it should work well

Works but no instructions
I purchased these 4mm hidden barrel hinges for a ring box. I scoured the internet for instructions and found none. Here is how I installed them. My box has a ¼” wall thickness. I drilled a 4mm hole in the center of the wall and 3/8” deep. The depth of the hole needs to match the length of the barrel from the pivoting pin to the end. Then I routed a 45 degree chamfer along the hinge side of the box on both the top and bottom pieces to allow the lid to open 90 degrees. The chamfer needs to remove the wood back to the center of the holes. Then I glued the hinges in with a little CA glue. I strongly recommend that you mock up the project on scrap wood as I show in the pictures. I also recommend using brad point drill bits to make sure you hit the exact spot for your holes.

Hidden hindges
This is a good product. It's the first time I've used this type of hindges and I like the finished results. I have the 5mm by 25mm and they are very small but that's a good thing. Smooth operation.
