Tube set is very good. Metal construction, not on flimsy side. Pros of extension tubes (in general) - - As no optics involved, only exposure drops, but quality is unaltered - Cheap compared to macro lens - Any nikon mount lens can be used - Stackable to increase magnification Cons of extension tubes (in general) - - These tubes can never match ease-of-use, quality and versatility of a macro lens - Very limited range of focus available (zoom-in/out to change focus area and that too is limited) When you put-on the tubes you can only shoot macro, no normal photos - Manual mode operation is a must - Needs to take great care while handling, especially when using with telephoto lens - You need to mount the rings and the lens on the camera, so in general your sensor is exposed to dust for more time - There is a learning curve, you need to be able to understand which/how many tubes in conjunction with which focal length will give you desired frame in focus Pros of fotodiox - - Metal body, i used it with 18-55mm and Tamron SP 70-300 (~800gms) also, it holds good if properly supported - Light weight - Camera-side mount and lens-side mount both are good Cons of fotodiox - - Even though i said it is metal body, i can not use the word sturdy. i can only say not flimsy. One needs to provide hand support all the time in order to avoid any damage to rings, camera or lens. It never gave me full confidence when i put all the rings with my 70-300. I always supported my lens and camera with my hand Although it takes 18-55 or small primes very comfortably - No electrical connection for lens means no VC, no aperture control, no auto focus - Threads on the rings are fine pitch, if dust particles get caught up there, i believe it can damage the soft aluminium - The lens locks to the mount ring but the tube rings do not have lock. So, they tend to rotate while you are trying to adjust zoom ring or focus ring of lens Overall it is very good alternative, and i'm pleased with it. If used with proper care it can be a great tool for occasional macro shots. If you are very rough user, then probably this is not for you. One observation. There is a screw near lens mount (not silver one, that is for unmounting the lens) which opens the aperture lever of lens when mounted. Later, i'm going to remove it and see if i can lower the aperture (for greater DOF)

Works exactly as advertised. However taking off one star due to lack of instructions on how to use them. Contains a 58mm reversal ring which mounts on a Nikon camera, and can be used with a lens that takes 58mm filters (50mm f1.8G for example) . Also contains an aperture enabler to use with Dx/G type lenses that don't have manual aperture control. A 52mm UV filter and a 52mm lens cap is also included . I'd recommend attaching the 58mm reverse ring to the lens first before mounting it to the camera by lining up the dots and turning anti clockwise. Attach the aperture control to the exposed side of the lens by lining the dots. Attach the included UV filter (helpful to protect the exposed lens element) . While removing, I found it better to unscrew the lens from the ring first, and then remove the ring from the camera body as you would remove a normal lens. Overall, felt the build quality was good. Takes some effort in focusing and setting exposure manually

Very good build quality. It is a construction with several rings and the ring that attaches to the lens has a screw which opens the lens aperture to lowest f-stop possible on the lens (this is to allow maximum light to cameras sensor). Folks with AF lens (with manual aperture control ring) can remove this screw and manually adjust the aperture (this is required for wider depth of field). Folks with AF-S (CPU controlled aperture) won't have control over DoF. At certain angles of camera alignment to the light source, the huge amount of light reflections inside the tube spoil the shot. Verdict: best suits AF lens, and for shots with tripod.

Very bad product. Never buy this. The product was received in bad packing, not packed safely.The locking mechanism in the tube which connectes to the lense malfunctioned and the lens could not be diconnected from the tube. I had to cut the tube from the lense risking damage of the lens, but luckily I got back my lense without any damage. Besides this the build quality and packing is very bad. Overpriced product considering its quality. Never buy this, it may damage your camera and lense

For starters, anyone trying for macro photography and cant afford a macro lense, this is a good option. It doesn't offer auto focus so once had to rely on manual focus. But then even with a good macro lense professionals use manual focusing. I would suggest using a tripod as you require slow shutter speed. Also try to click under the sun. For indoors one would require a good speedlight. I use a NIKON D3300 with kit lense and the photos wete quite ok. I have posted a few sample pics also. I use both the 18-55mm kit nikon kit lense and the 70-300 mm telephoto kit lense. I preferred the telephot lense as it allowed me to zoom in from a distance, thus not disturbing the subject. A spider in this case. I would suggest begginers to try it. I gave it a 3 star only because it doesnt have auto focus. A good buy.

I first posted a note saying the rings and adapters were a total mismatch! Later I found that I fitted rings to another manufacturer's adapter!! Then I found that the Fotodiox Set was a perfect companion for my Nikon System. The pin can be easily removed by filing/grinding if no restriction is needed on your aperture. Works perfectly well! I am DOUBLY satisfied after my initial mix-up!!!

It is not working properly with my camera and lens. Nikon D5500 with 18-140mm, after connecting with lens reversal. For other camera and lens, I can't say. But for the camera and lens mentioned above, not recommended. Though it fits in, quality vanished.

La qualité des images n'est pas trop à la hauteur par rapport à une bonnette par exemple, cependant, c'est un kit pratique. L'objectif est bien monté et la possibilité de mettre un filtre au bout est indispensable.

Pues eso: por fin un adaptador que funciona para objetivos Olympus OM-analógicos- a cámaras Nikon F-que son las que tengo yo-, aunque supongo que funcionara con los AI, AF,AG, etc.. Debido a la diferente distancia focal de brida entre los objetivos OLYMPUS -46 MM-, y Nikon-46,5 MM-, resultaba imposible emplear , antiguos objetivos analógicos OM en cámaras analógicas o digitales Nikon. Nunca se podía enfocar bien y mucho menos a infinito, aparte claro esta de que el acoplamiento físico no era igual. Gracias a Fotodiox , y una lente de enfoque suplementaria añadida en el adaptador, ya es posible. Probado con un Cosina 100-500 mm analógico , y funciona correctamente. Supongo que en los de otras marcas será el resultado similar. Por supuesto el enfoque y las aperturas del objetivo ,asi como las velocidades de obturación, tendrás que ajustarlos manualmente , porque no hay contactos electrónicos implicados , pero no resulta ningún problema si ya tienes algo de experiencia fotográfica. Por ponerle algún pero, encaja bien en el adaptador , y queda firmemente fijado , aunque la fijación con el resorte pulsador , no actúa , debido a las diferencias de cada objetivo y marca, pero bueno : no se puede tener todo.

Ho acquistato questo prodotto per utilizzarlo con un 35 mm f3.5 Sekor C e con un 105-210mm f4.5 Sekor C su Nikon D300s, il risultato è ottimo, perfetta messa a fuoco sia alla minima che all'infinito, ottimo dettaglio. E' un vero piacere utilizzare queste ottiche manuali su moderne macchine digitali senza acquistare un costoso corpo macchina medio formato. La costruzione dell'adattatore è molto curata, entra nella baionetta con molta precisione, ha il pulsante per sganciare l'ottica dall'adattatore senza che questi venga rimosso dal corpo macchina. Consigliato.

J'ai acheté cet adaptateur avec beaucoup de scepticisme, "pour voir". Mon expérience avec les "loupes d'infini" sur les adaptateurs M42 vers Nikon F n'est pas concluante ('4 marques, 3 acceptables, une carrément mauvaise). Ici, la périphérie devient "floue" c'est évident, mais l'axe optique garde des qualités acceptables. Je viens de recevoir (très vite) cette bague et ne l'ai essayée que sur un"Westron" de 35 mm. expérience tout-à-fait concluante, à ma surprise. Ah oui, on travaille évidemment en "manuel total". Nikon (D7000) ne prend plus rien en charge, du moins avec cette lentille à diaphragme manuel. Pour photographe "à l'ancienne" mais je recommande VIVEMENT. Post-scriptum: 2 jours plus tard, j'ai aussi testé abondamment ce dispositif avec un objectif Ludwig Meritar 50 mm âgé de 50 ans. le constat est encore plus positif. Il me semble que l'adéquation entre les objectifs à monture Exakta, cette baque (et sa loupe) et ce modèle de Nikon est très concluante.
