Best way to quickly hydrate
I love Hoist! I stopped drinking Gatorade and Powerade because there was way too much sugar. Hoist tastes great and I feel like it does a better job hydrating.

Middling Marketing Mars Good Product
Please note, I'm giving this product a 3-star rating and I got it FOR FREE. Here's why: What you're buying here is a lot of slick marketing, some of which doesn't even make a whole lot of sense when you start to parse it out. (Example: An "isotonic" solution means that it has the same electrolyte concentration as the other side of a semi-permeable membrane, like your digestive tract/blood stream barrier. This means the fluid can flow in either direction without changing the fluid concentration on either side. Thus, if this is a true isotonic solution, there would be very little reason for your body to absorb extra fluid... Can you see the problem with a beverage that touts rapid hydration?)Yes, I like the ingredients list and I think it's a shame it's taken this long for a beverage aimed at health conscious people (aka: athletes) to not have a bunch of unnatural dyes and chemicals. I like the fact that it's not loaded with chemical sweeteners or sugar, but Stevia (Hoist's sweetener) is an acquired taste that I really haven't acquired. The flavor is fine (think tart Crystal Light), but the texture is a little oily in comparison to other hydration drinks. Is it worth nearly $2 a bottle? I can't say that I've noticed a dramatic difference when drinking this before or after workouts. (In fact, I've been drinking Hoist around workouts for a week and have experienced my first leg and foot cramps in months. Not sure if there's a direct connection, but it seems terribly coincidental.) Generally speaking, you shouldn't need to replenish electrolytes (read: water is sufficient) unless you're a distance athlete, working out for an hour or longer, or have short bursts of exercise that are exceptionally intense. (A quick walk on the treadmill wouldn't warrant a drink like this.) Having SOME flavor in one's beverage will make one more inclined to drink more, and maybe that's where the real benefit here is.If you're looking for a natural hydration beverage without a bunch of added sugars, dyes, chemicals, etc... then Hoist will probably fit the bill. It's not perfect, and while I think it's too expensive, it'll do.

Very Good!
I am usually not a fan of flavored water, electrolyte drinks, etc. In fact, the only one I ever liked was Knudsen's Recharge, which I felt was a more healthy "sports drink". I tried Hoist with some skepticism - just another flavored/sugared water.I have to say I really like it. It is very light, and has a lemony taste which reminds me of Recharge. Unlike a twist of lemon in your water, this is not as bitter. It is 35 calories a bottle (16.9 ounces), so if you are dieting and want to drink lots of water, but want a slight flavor, this does the trick. There is 150 mg sodium and 95 potassium per bottle so it does the electrolyte trick too.I actually like this as an alternative when I want a little flavor, even though I am trying to consume lots of water.

As long as you don't expect it to taste great
This stuff tastes a bit rough, but it really helped get me through a rough bought of the flu. The lemon lime was like my worst memories of OG Gatorade powder, but the lack of a sugar crash helped seal the deal. This is legit hydration--not a sugary drink that has also has electrolytes (which plants crave). It's the no-pain no-gain sports drink!Anyway, this really saved my behind when I was down for the count for several days and could barely move. The aches and pains of dehydration went away only leaving the different aches and pains of the flu!

Lemon is actually acidic - but otherwise a PERFECT electrolyte drink!
Flavor wise these were great - they were actually really lemony. Which is why I actually took off a star - I am pregnant and I couldn't at all use these after my walks because of acid reflux. I wish they had added the flavor without adding in all the acid!!If that's not a big deal, these are really perfect - they do a great job at hydrating without a ton of calories or sugar and have a very natural feel and flavor to them - super refreshing. Contents are great too - I like that they add barely any sugar and add some Stevia instead to help with flavor. I've actually tried several different electrolyte drinks and these were by far the best ones other than the acid which took me off guard!
