Exactly what I was looking for!
Most doughnut cookbooks consist mostly of fried doughnut recipes, with only a few baked ones thrown in. I had recently purchased a doughnut pan, and was looking for more recipes to use it with. I did a lot of searching online, and I believe this is one of only two books that are 100% baked doughnuts. The only other one I found was Baked Doughnuts For Everyone: From Sweet to Savory to Everything in Between, 101 Delicious Recipes, All Gluten-Free . The gluten free diet does not appeal to me, nor is it medically necessary for us, so I passed that one by and kept looking, and found this one.I have tried several of the recipes in it, and they turned out wonderfully. It's pretty hard to tell that they were baked and not fried. Buy this book and a doughnut pan, and you'll be all set!

Desperately needs editing!
I'm just getting the opportunity to dive into this book. I was looking for a couple of basic recipes, but low and behold there are no basics (vanilla, chocolate, glaze, etc). So I started looking at recipes that could be adapted, and started noticing that when there are pictures, they are in black and white and don't always match the described recipe. Further, the recipe name doesn't always represent the main ingredients of the donut. There are some directions that seem incomplete, such as a step 1 and 2, but not the final step in an assembly process. At another point, the directions for making a glaze include "Combine all ingredients (which aren't listed) and sprinkle into each donut mold". If it weren't for my Betty Crocker Cookbook, I wouldn't have a clue which ingredients to mix and I'm not sure how one is meant to "sprinkle" a liquid.Bottom line: If I didn't already know what I was I doing, I'd be lost. I wouldn't buy this book again and I'll be lucky to get a handful out of the 100 that I can actually use. Hire an editor!

Helpful and includes gluten free
This cookbook is a mix of fancy baked donuts and gluten free recipes. I will try some and adapt others. To the people concerned about the recipes, some were simply for a British reader. The 190 degrees would be 375. Caster sugar is a fine granulated sugar and strong flour would be high gluten or bread flour. Other than that you should be good to go. My daughter needs gluten free so I will pass some recipes on to her. I prefer baked to fried donuts. This can be a good addition if you're looking for special occasion treats.

I'm still hoping to find a good donut
This is not what I was expecting at all. Most of the ingredients called for I don't have, and as a avid baker, I have an extensive variety. I wanted a cookbook for baked donuts. Nothing too fancy, flour, sugar, salt, etc..this was not it. I'm still hoping to find a good donut cookbook

Baked Donut Cookbook
OK, I've only made one recipe but it was delicious! I made the Walnut Streusel Baked Donuts today and both my husband and I really enjoyed them! I was a little fearful that with the streusel they might be a bit overly sweet, but they were not at all! I would consider these on the lower end of sweet. I've gone through the cookbook and there are several more recipes I want to try. I read several reviews where people were disappointed in the recipe variety. I, fortunately, am not gluten intolerant, HOWEVER, I have friends who are and I am excited to have some recipes to try to share with them.

Odd Oven Temperature Setting for First Recipe
I have to question the accuracy of the recipes in this book, especially after reading the directions of the very first recipe that says to bake the doughnuts at 190 degrees F for 10 -12 minutes. This does not sound right. I'm not sure about the temperature and the time. I see that this doughnut is made with yeast, but still, I must question the oven temperature. If the temperature is correct, There is no contact information provided, so you can't ask the author if it is correct.

I read it through to pick out recipes I would like to try right away
As soon as I received this donut cookbook, I read it through to pick out recipes I would like to try right away. Nicely written in easy to follow instructions. I especially liked the hints of donut making in the front of the book.

A Complete Donut Smorgasbord!
I mean, there's practically no end to the variety of donuts. With detailed, but easy to follow instructions taking your through the entire preparation & baking process, I was afraid I'd botch them until I saw what kind of guidance Mavis provides. These are broken down into categories, like Breakfast Bites, Chocolate, Glaze, Fruits & Veggie, and so on & on ... And, the types are stunning: you want Vanilla Green Tea? How about Vegan Espresso? Choc-o-loco? Ginger Sweet? Good lord, I'm a-gonna break the scales! Haha.Terrific, Fantastic Cookbook!

Was really disappointed to find black and white pictures
Was really disappointed to find black and white pictures, only one tiny picture of terrible quality so that you can barely make out what it is per recipe, pages are thin and tearable. Not what you would expect from a recipe book, and especially with something specialist like donuts you'd hope for pictures to help keep you on the right track? Had to return this as I didn't see how it was going to help and there were hardly any recipes that sounded nice. It's a shame.

Don't read this book by the cover.
I was expecting more of what was on the book cover but was disappointed as the layout showed the exact opposite. The actual contents of the book are fine and there are many good recipes in it, but it is let down by drab black and white photos and very plain script. Any fun in the book is in the cover.

not a great deal of continuity in presentation for some of the ...
This book has a lot of gluten free recipes. That's okay but for the most part I don't have on hand very many of the ingredients as of yet to bake these recipes. It has tremendous variety…and they all sound delicious and very simple to make. Some of the recipes are in UK measurements and I find that a bit strange….not a great deal of continuity in presentation for some of the recipes. All in all not a bad little book…..nice addition to my library.
