This is an excellent item. I will purchase another one soon. Great customer service also.
Now that I am used to it, I like it very much. I think this is an excellent purchase. I can see it from further way than I have been able to see items on the wall before. It displays the day of the week, if it is day or night, the time, & the calendar date. It has a slightly "blu-ish" light which I like since it doesn't light up the whole room. At fist I didn't think I would like it but I have changed my mind about it. Now, I will have to order another one soon. You need to be aware, however, that it has to be plugged into an electrical outlet in order to work. There is no place for batteries, but its attributes far outweigh that little "quirk." Their customer service is excellent. I was somewhat disappointed about it when I first got it & sent an email to the company. They responded via email almost immediately & were very courteous. They answered all of my questions. You don't always get that level of great customer service. So, I highly recommend this clock & the company that provides it.

Great for dementia patient
I bought this for a relative who has moderate dementia. It has a bright, colorful, easy to read screen. She comments daily that she likes it. She notices the date and year ("Is it really 2023?!?!?") and the time is so easy for her to read. My 12 yo set up the clock for her and said it's super simple to set up. It hasn't lost any time yet. Great buy for seniors!

Love this clock!
i bought this clock for my inlaws who are 86 years old and they love it. The numbers and letters are in large print making it very easy to read. They never have to get up from wherever they're sitting to see what day of the week it is or what the date is. I like the feature on it that it turns the brightness down at a certain time of night and then automatically turns itself back up at a certain time in the morning. I also LOVE that it comes in red, white and blue. Not only is it very patriotic but it helps to seperate the time of day from the date and day of the week. It's a GREAT gift idea for any older person. Hey, I'm 60 years old and want one for myself. I will definitely be buying another one!

Great Clock!
I got this DayClox originally several years ago for my elderly Mom. She loved it. It is easy to read with the red, white and blue sections and it has a lighted background so you can see it from anywhere in a room. The calendar is great in helping you to keep track of the day of the week, whether it is morning, afternoon, evening, etc. I loved it so much I got one for myself! I also got one for my elderly Aunt. She loves it too.!

It (almost) literally defines my mother-in-law's day!
Excellent clock with very large number/letters that orients my mother-in-law every day. Honestly, I always thought the signs "Today is..." in assisted living were a little offensive. I was wrong. This clock is needed and, I believe, grounds her in her daily routine. It's been running a few months now with no problems. Worth it! BTW: I also like the contrasting Red-White-Blue colors because to me, and her, patriotism matters!

Fantastic, but I want more features!
*** Update: 1/30/2018***My father now exclusively uses this clock to keep track of his day. He no longer asks me what day it is as he goes into his bedroom to check for himself. He does complain that the screen is too bright when he lays down during the day for a nap. If there was a way to dim the screen, please let me know, otherwise, it may be a feature DayClox should add to their next model.I still think the screen is too cluttered or compressed with information; the bezel could be narrower allowing the screen to be bigger. A second clock in a larger size would be a wonderful addition for use as a wall clock in the kitchen or dining room.***Purchased for my 84-year-old father who is having difficulty admitting he has memory issues. He first complained that he didn't need anything like this, then complained about the brightness of the screen, that is, until he went to sleep and then said the screen's brightness was perfect; no glare, and the clock works as a nightlight, too. By the third day, he was thanking me repeatedly and he said that he does have problems "sometimes" with remembering things. There was no set-up for this device. Plugged it in and the date and time set automatically. The packaging was minimal, too, which is great for the environment.I chose the red, white, and blue background, not to be patriotic, but to visually break the information into segments. The display is the right size to be seen from various distances and angles, but I wish there was an option to hide some of the info as the screen is too cluttered. Another option would be for the screen image to change, maybe display the day of the seek and time of day on one screen, which holds for maybe ten seconds, then the screen could transition to the actual date, including day, month, and year for ten seconds, or so. To me, that would separate the information and make is easier for the person with dementia to fully comprehend the information without feeling overwhelmed - an issue which causes anxiety in some people with dementia. The clock has completely stopped my father from questioning the time of day and it allows him to maintain his independence and avoid being embarrassed. Overall, an incredibly valuable and reliable purchase and I will be purchasing a second one for another area of his home.*************On a side note...I also wish, wish, wish, the DayClox company could include an add-on which could display appointment information such as time, location, or med schedule for the day. The patient or caregiver could enter the information at any time from a smartphone or computer. This would allow the person to receive visual or audible reminders throughout the day without, again, being overwhelmed by seeing too much information at one time.If anyone knows of a program or device like this already on the market, please let me know. I'd greatly appreciate it.

Good for seniors with memory and/or vision issues
This clock works great for anyone with vision issues, brain trauma, failing memory, etc. It's bizarre how the mind works and can stop picking up on cues of what is daytime or nighttime. The clock appears as you see in the pictures, works fine either color or black & white. The manual time adjustment works fine for me but I wouldn't anticipate that someone who needs the clock (for issues mentioned already) to be able to figure it out...would need help a couple times of year when the clocks change an hour.

Great product! Would buy again!
Bright, easy to read. I bought it for my 90 year old father who lives alone. It helps him remember when to take his meds. It helps him keep up with the days of the week, along with when his next doctors’ appointments will be. We placed a large dry erase calendar close to the clock and filled in his appointments, etc. He says the clock is very helpful to him.
