Hexaquest - The Strategic Boardgame - Kickstarter Edition

This game was fantastic - did not disappoint. It is different from other trivia games because you can pick what categories you get to answer from a few options. There is also mystery because some of the chips are up and some are down so you can play it safe with the smaller points or risk it for the higher points not knowing the category. 10/10 will be my go to Xmas gift this year You can also get expansion packs from the company. My best pal and I love trivia games. Played it for the first time last week. This one is really well done and good even if you are not especially fond of trivia games. You can play with just two players--or teams. You could actually play it as a solitaire game too. Just cover the answer on card with thumb. Easy to learn, easy to play. The questions are multiple choice, so even if you don't know the answer you have a 25% chance of getting it right. The quality of the tiles (plastic not cardboard), velvet storage bag is great. And portable. I bought the Prodigy extension box to play with grandkids at Christmas. My pal has already bought the two music extension packs. He told a work friend about Hexaquest; she bought the game as well. You can "make it your own". E.g. if you can answer the question without getting the multiple choice answers you earn extra points. There is also some strategy involved. Very pleased. My only concern as will all trivia games, you eventually run out of questions.

This game is so fun! Great for 2-8 players. Fun questions. Interesting strategies. I first played it at a brewery in Fort Collins with my husband and son and we had a blast. I had to get it and we've since played with larger groups and had lots of fun too. Gonna get some expansion packs!

Your classic trivia game with a twist! There are 6 categories to choose from, each with a corresponding color. The game also comes with a number of hexagon shaped pieces that have a color category on one side and a number on the other side. The color of course indicates the category you will play and the number indicates how many points you earn if you answer the question correctly. Some of the pieces have double the points which can be a game changer at any time and put you ahead. You can place the hexagons however you like; category side up, point side up, or a mix of both. That was another element that I found fun and exciting. The game pieces are well-made, not flimsy, and feel nice and smooth in your hand. I played with 3 friends and they are all big fans of the game too! We are all in our 30's but the questions were appropriate for teenagers as well. There is an expansion pack that I will definitely be purchasing as this is my new favorite game!

This game has been a family favorite ever since we purchased it. With the way that the board is setup by flinging the pieces onto the table, each game has a different pace to it that adds just that extra bit of strategy for those looking for an edge. The questions are well written and have accurate scaling to their difficulty level, and I never feel like any of the questions are "unfairly" difficult. Overall if you are looking for a good, family fun, quick and easy to play trivia game, this is the game for you!
