This did exactly what it was for
I have a monitor on a wall-mounted swing arm that I use in a recliner.. mostly for long sessions doing editing/art/gaming. There were time when IO could really use a portrait-oriented monitor. Like playing Pinball FX or reading/creating long-format documents. I stuck this between the swing-arm vesa mount and my mointor's vesa mount and that was that. I can now use portrait mode whenever I wish.Worth every penny.Could it be better? Probably. But it would all add complications and cost. Bearings.. resistance features.. stop-points.. etc... this is simple and it just works.

Before you buy..?
1. Be aware (if you didnt pay attention like I did)1A. This VESA mount is ONLY designed for the popular 100x100mm does not support the smaller 75x75mm or any other form factor mount specifications.1B. This is not 360% (or come even close to), its max angle is 90degress and back.2. If you are looking for something that can instantly rotate Portrait / Landscape monitor position:This will work for you, right out of the box. maxium of 90 degree turn in one direction and back, so decide what direction suits your turning needs then do final mount.3. If you wanted this to actually rotate left / right so monitor is leveled evenly for your viewing comfort:Then you will have to take a hand-screw driver to dis-assemble the two piece and re-assemble it back in different rotating position, it wont give you a perfect 45/45 degree freedom adjustment but more of 20/25 degree rotating freedom depending on how you mount it.4. Use hand tool to assemble/disassemble the two plate also hand-tightening the 3 screw by hand can adjust the rotating plate stiffness.5. The rotating monitor plat has a coat of painted almost-smoothsurface:My monitor is a portable 17" travel 4K HD, 95% of the time it will remain mounted, I added a cut sized sheet of foam paper (art supply) to avoid back to back plate mount/unmount scratches.6. it only came with 4 pieces of M4 silver-screws for its base, it does not with any monitor screws, so you will need to get 4 more M4 with correct length that fits your final assembly. I went to local store to look for color matching hex-screws and matching depth for my needs.

Nice, simple, easy to use. Good quality.
Works great. Note that it only rotates one direction.

It works, with issues
It works, and there aren't many other options for standalone VESA rotation adapters. If you need what it can do, it's worth looking at, with some considerations -It only rotates 90 degrees, in one direction. So when you mount it, make sure you mount it oriented in the appropriate way, so that it will rotate those 90 degrees in the direction you need (either clockwise or counter cw)Out of the box it was a little loose in one position, and tigher in the other. For my very small/light 10" monitor (the monitor is not centered in portrait mode), I wanted to use the looser position for portrait orientation. It was too loose to keep the monitor from rotating out of vertical. Tightening that one position enough (using the 3 screws in the center), made it much tougher to rotate through the rest of the travel.Problems- Not evenly tight across the 90 degree travel, so you might need to tighten in one position, making it very tough to rotate to the other position.- Adjusting rotation tension requires unscrewing whatever monitor you have mounted, in order to be able to access the 3 tension screws. There's no feel of how tight your're making each screw, so can't tell if you're applying even tension across the 3.- The 2 halves move a few mm off the center if you try to slide them relative to each other. Not a big deal but there's no precision manufacturing here.- Believe original intent behind this product was to rotate iPads on a retail stand. Probably works fine for that, but for larger devices it's not the best choice. If you have the option to use the display manufacturer's own stand w/rotation (Dell etc), rec to use that instead.

Adds Pivot to Computer Monitor
I was looking for a monitor stand that would add the option to pivot the monitor 90 degrees into portrait mode. I didn't see any options of comparable quality to the OEM stand and wondered if there was an adapter, and stumbled on this; just that.Installation was super simple, just inserting this between the original stand and the monitor and screwing into each. The one fault I have with the product is that in default orientation there's no locking mechanism so the monitor has a bit of give side-to-side, resulting in me having to manually straighten the monitor when it looked crooked. But the utility it offers makes it a non-issue overall. Life-saving product.

Works Great. Not sure why this is a Niche Product
This thing is perfect. I recently realized tv mounts are absolutely the best way to go for monitor mounts and most TV wall mounts (cheaper ones atleast) only have a few degrees of swivel rotation. This is the perfect swivel adapter for a monitor if your using a TV wall mount and need to rotate your monitor 90° in portrait. I do wish it was a little cheaper tho and not such a niche product. Hopefuly more people will convert to TV wall mounts for their monitors.

Awesome! Used with headrest tv mount on a sprinter!
Awesome! Used with swivel plate mount on a sprinter! That's a 32" smart tv, with the headrest mount and swivel plate. We were concerned about walking to the back and hitting the TV, so we got something that can turn portrait temporarily as we go from front to back serving our children their first class life they will take for granted!
