Quality line hauler
I used this for lobster fishing in San Diego Bay for the first time last night. It worked fantastically. I am using Promar 36" XL hoops in 40' to 50'. The line hauler had no problem lifting these hoops, even with multiple lobsters inside. I know they call out using 5/16" line; I don't recommend this size. Too small in my hands. I am going back to 1/2", which fits fine. The installation was simple. This is a great product.

Crabs pot puller
Love it! And it's cheaper than most pullers

Does the job!
I picked up one of these when it was on sale and I used this for the first time a few weeks ago pulling pots in Bodega Bay. We had 11 pots at various depths from 40' to 90' and this puller worked like a champ each time! Originally I tried mounting it on a removable Scotty platform that goes in a pole holder and that was a disaster. Almost broke my pole holder. I remounted it on the gunnel while we were out on the water and it was a much more stable platform to work with! I also have it paired with the rotating Scotty mount and it is just freaking awesome. Did not have any issues pulling pots at all. We were pulling single pots with no trouble. I read some guys are pulling multiple pots at the same time?! Maybe you can do two..but if you are pulling the cheap 24x24 pots or the 30" round pots one at a time that is not a problem at all. Lastly...if your pot lines have weights, you will want to change those out ASAP. My older pots had weights on the line and we had to stop the puller each time a weight got up to the pulley otherwise it would get jammed up in there and we would have to stop everything to get it sorted out. Its more of a hassle than anything. Just something to be aware of. Good luck and enjoy!

Quality control sucks!
The unit looks nice…I have not used it yet. Quality control sucks! I am using this for Promar style hoop nets. The quality issues: The electrical connections and switch box are loose and the seals on the wires are pulled back from the connectors. This is bad!!!! sea water will enter the electrical components and in a few months stop working. The cables have shrink tubing and for some reason not heated to seal the wires???? I disassembled the main power control box and sealed all the inner openings with silicone and then sealed all the connector feed throughs with silicone/RTV. Why do they not use rubber gaskets? The main electrical box bolts up against the main plate with NO seals to keep water out! I added a seal to stop the water intrusion. The main stainless pin that holds the unit to the base does not slide through. I had to ream out the holes to make it a good slip fit. I mounted this solid with a stainless bar under the lip edge of my boat to be strong. I weigh 180 and hung off the post and it’s solid. I’m waiting for the first pull to see how it works.

Double check everything
Puller stopped working on first time out in middle of a pull thought the motor fried but turns out factory wiring was poorly connected redid the connection in the on off switch box everything is working now but we'll find out on the next trip

Awesome Puller!!
I am really pleased with the performance of this unit. I have friends with more expensive Pot Pullers but this out performs them all. It's speed, power and ease of use meets or exceeds competitors with this type puller. I'm always hesitant to provide a review until I've thoroughly used a product. It's the peak of Crab Season in the PNW and we've probably pulled over 100 pots in the last month and it performed without any glitches. The quality is great and performance superb.

Great product
Husband is pleased with the purchase. He was hauling lobster traps by hand. Now, saving time and back, the hauler has been a blessing.
