Textured Vegetable Protein (TVP), 1 lb. Bag, Natural Plant Based Vegan Protein Chunks, Non-GMO and Gluten Free Crumbles, Cholesterol Free by Amazing Chiles

I use the TVP crumbles whenever I'm cooking up a pot of beans. Regardless if they be Pinto, little red, kidney, navy bean, etc. I add a cup or two of the crumbles depending on the quantity of beans an hour or two before the beans are done. The crumbles will swell and soften and take on the flavor of the beans being cooked. I've been a vegetarian for many years and there crumbles provide me the protein I need due to the lack of meat in my diet. I use them as a meat substitute in other recipes as well. Maybe not a choice for a Texas cattleman but a healthy alternative for those who prefer a meatless diet.

This works great for chili, sloppy Joe's, and spaghetti, soups, etc. Most people are surprised when I tell them it's vegetarian.

Value for money was great. Perfect size tvp for anything you want to make. The protein content is 9 grams. Easy to use.

Great food. Easy to cook, has a slightly bouncy chewiness similar to small beef chuncks. I haven't figured out if I can make the cooked texture more chicken like, though. Works exceptionally in soups.

I bought this food as emergency stock and am ok with its look and packaging so far.

The soy curls are very easy to rehydrate and once rehydrated they take on the flavor of whatever broth you used.

TVP asorbs the spices/ sauces that one uses while providing a high protein, low fat, low carb meal.Be creative and enjoy!!!No one had to die for your chili; soups; pasta dishes; rice supreme and… endless possibilities. You are limited only by your imagination.

The flavor and value are great. My issue is that the Amazon page header states that this is non-GMO yet nowhere on the package does it say anything to support the claim. Went back to the page again and there is NO mention of the product being non-GMO other than in the header. I will not purchase again
