This product was difficult to apply to a newly seeded area. I see city maintenance workers using straw over newly seeded area and I thought I would try the same method. The product cannot simply be rolled out easily. You would think it would roll out just like toilet paper and wola, hammer in the landscape pegs to hold it down and walk away. Not the case with this product. You’ll spend a ton of frustrating time with scissors trying to roll it. Then you have caused so much disruption to the straw and mess you will be left scratching your head. I recommend the you buy a bale of straw and a roll of fine mesh. Put the straw down and then roll out the mesh on top to keep straw in place. I would not buy this again.

I have used these types of straw mats many times through the years. This product was a tangled mess. Got 4 rolls. Two were only so so and the other 2 were so tangled that they were impossible to use.
