Great unit. But not perfect.
The alarm is quite loud and should be effective in preventing theft. And the tail light function works well too. But I agree with the reviewer who mentioned that NOT using the screw to secure the unit to the mounting bracket is risky. After removing the unit from the mounting bracket to charge it, I simply slid it back into the bracket and went for a 10 mile ride and found the unit missing at the end of the ride. Apparently I didn't get it securely clicked into place and it had vibrated loose and was gone. Lesson learned. I immediately reordered because it works so well. And this brings me to the reason I only gave it 4 stars. In both instances, I found that the included USB charging cord did not work to recharge the unit. Plugged in OK but didn't make electrical contact. I subsequently used a charging cable from another device and it worked fine. And the included cable worked properly in another device. Albeit, the charging port itself is a bit tricky to use as the rubber weather seal interferes a bit with the charging cable plug making it difficult to insert. So... redesigning the charging port itself would make this perfect in my opinion. As an aside: This same manufacturer makes a similar product in the form of a locking cable. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B072JW6YV5/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o08_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1But instead of the remote activator, it uses a four button key pad built into the lock to arm and disarm the lock and alarm. But, as a result, when you go to push the buttons to enter the disarm code, the very loud alarm goes off. And until you finish entering the code, it continues to sound off. As the user is in close proximity, it's very annoying and actually a bit painful. And a bit embarrassing if there are onlookers questioning whether or not your trying to steal your own bike. I would pay good money to have them make this same product with the remote actuator instead of the key pad.

I bought it, but I'm still curious.
As my previous electric bike was stolen while secured, I found an alarm like this to be an absolute must. The alarm is very effective. There were several comments regarding methods to charge the alarm. I installed the screw so that the unit could not be easily thrown away by a thief. Although I have to get on my knees and squint to see the usb port, I found that method easier than removing the alarm unit for charging. Speaking of charging, the remote uses a # 27 battery. It is not a button type battery and not available everywhere. I purchased a five pack of these batteries for about $5. That leads to my confusion. The alarm is only activated/deactivated by the remote. There is no apparent warning that the remote battery is running low. What happens when you activate the alarm, but the remote battery is discharged. Do I have to carry a spare battery with me so I don't set off the alarm with no apparent way of turning it off?

Great light/alarm/horn combo
I am so happy to have found this product. The alarm works beautifully - loud, but not ridiculous; it triggers reliably; when the bike has just been bumped against, the alarm sounds but stops quickly. The remote is really handy, although I ended up putting it on my keychain since it wouldn't stay put when I used the handlebar mount and zip-tie combination. No matter how tight I was able to pull the zip-tie, the remote would scoot around to the underside of the handlebars when I was riding. I can still use the horn because I put my keychain on a lanyard and just wear it around my neck for the duration of my ride.I didn't want to unscrew the light/alarm from the mount every time it needed to be charged. I just hook it up to my pocket phone charger and that works fine. I try to make a point of charging the light/alarm when I am home since I don't want to lose the charger on the road. The light is great - very bright and having a choice as to blinking (2 speeds) or having a steady beam is a nice touch. All in all, I am extremely pleased with this product and definitely recommend it. It has contributed immensely to my peace of mind, both with the visibility during a ride and the security of the alarm when I park. I haven't had to use the horn yet, but I am confident that drivers will hear it, even with their windows rolled up. Super product!

Great multifunctional and practical light/alarm/horn.
Really enjoy this multipurpose light. The alarm feature is great, and I really like that it is rechargeable. Has several blinking modes and is very visible. The beeping horn is also very loud, and will definitely get the attention of cars better than your typical handlebar bell. I only wish they made the button for the bell more easily accessible, so that you can't confuse it with the other buttons onmthe key fob. The only downside is that I haven't figured out how to disconnect the light from the bracket so I don't have to unscrew the mount every time I want to recharge it. Otherwise, this is a great product.

Photos of inside.
Good enough for the price. Note the taillight is not waterproof. Mine separated its case first time I removed it from under the seat. So i took some pics for our Community. It snapped back together , no problems, it's still working fine. Battery is 800ma, 3.7v which explains the LONG battery light. I think a Sensitivity Adjustment is needed. Knowing the bike is alarmed, a thief could easily not move the bike enough to trigger the alarm. Mine needs over 20° tilt to sound. Yet, for the price it's good enough. My next alarm will have the feature to page/vibrate the FOB 100m away when the bike is slightly moved.

fake It's a cheap knock off of the reel $100 version
wow it's a remake of the real one It's not waterproof Water can easy going on the sides There's no side panels to open it for the battery it says you have to pry it open and there's a chance you can break the plastic hooks . That holds Cheap plastic together.. Remember it's made in China I'm getting my money back. I'm just gonna buy the real version For a $100 . This is super small compared to the Real version. It's a good kids toy your kids can play with.. You can literally see the open gaps on the sides physically impossible to change a battery without breaking it eventually

Works very well
The receiving end of the charge wire breaks inside the unit making it extremely difficult to charge. The male end became loose to the point it's unusable...can't charge it. It's great while it was working!
