Things to be aware of.
Bought the Diesel 950 - 3 seat curved version with power recline in black leather along with several optional trays, a LED flexible light, and a wine holder.First off, the under seat LED lights face forward. They are so bright that once the seat is reclined they completely wash out the entire wall where the TV or projector screen in my case, is. Has anyone in the design team actually used the seat in a projector room set up while actually watching a movie? If so this wouldn't be the case with the lights mounting orientation. I’d like to be able to leave them on once reclined for the lighted cup holders and the kids so guess I’ll have to take matters into my own hands and move them. Not gonna be a fun project at all I’m thinking and something I shouldn't ever have had to be concerned with...Bought the full extended warranty and never received anything in writing in regards to it? Do I need to register for it - no clue as of yet?Not sure why I thought these were a made in America at the facilities in CO, product. Look at the Octane website - they lead you to believe they are a made in America product. My bad for not asking and making an assumption. A bit of a shock and disappointment but the build quality and the stitching while not perfect looks good and believe me I went over them closely once I saw made in China. Looked at those small German recliner motors which are labeled in English and don’t say anywhere on them as to where they are from...Awesome new leather smell - no, there is a smell but it’s not a leather one.Thick, plush and quality new leather feel? Again, I’d have to say definitely not. This leather feels thin and much less than the luxurious feel I was expecting. Is it time for the "you get what you pay for" response here? I paid big $$ for seats with premium leather - I had a hard time telling them apart from my previous inexpensive theater seats faux leather materials. Also, two of the seats I got have a leather that's not a glossy finish at all but the other seat I got does have a glossy finish to the leather. I looked and the printed labels under each footrest and they are not close at all in serial number sequence. I don't feel they are a matched set using a similar run of leather and finish nor does my wife... At first, I thought the odd glossy seat might have been a different model...The LED flexible lighting accessory I have turns on first time every time. Getting it to turn off is another matter - may be on the 20th plus attempt or more before it finally gives in and finally turns off - cheap unreliable on/off switch to an otherwise nice light.Your conclusion may be that I'm one of those uber critical customers that probably complains about everything and is impossible to please. I can assure you I'm not that type and I rarely complain about anything and I'm writing this to bring to light my experience with Octane seats and help others decide if this is the seating manufacturer for them to go with. I now wait on Octane to respond to my concerns - The reviews say Octane has good customer support. More to follow on the response and how they deal with the above-listed issue's.
