USA Folding Jewelers Loupe Style Pocket Magnifier

I received this folding jeweler’s loupe as a Christmas gift, and it has quickly become one of the handiest tools on my bench -- both at work and at home. The lenses are crystal clear, and the ability to swing in one, two, or all three lenses gives me exactly the level of magnification I need without distortion. I use it constantly for electronics, small mechanical assemblies, connectors, micro screws, and anything that demands precision. The optics are sharp edge-to-edge, and I’m able to see solder joints and traces that I simply couldn’t trust my eyes with before. The build quality impressed me more than expected -- solid metal, smooth pivot action, and a secure clip that stays put without scratching or wobbling. It folds compactly, so it rides easily in my pocket or tool bag, and it’s ready in seconds when I need it. What surprised me most is how much it reduces fatigue. Instead of hunching forward and squinting, I can work comfortably and confidently, knowing exactly what I’m looking at. If you work with electronics, watches, jewelry, model building, or any detailed repair work, this magnifier is worth every penny. It has already paid for itself in fewer mistakes and better results. Wonderful, large, sharp lens, but there was a deficit in contrast, apparently due to unblackened lens edges. So I took the lens out of its lens cell and blackened the edge with a Sharpie pen. Wow! Did that ever make it better!! I don’t think this lens is actually a Hastings as advertised. For one thing, it has a deep-ish circumferential groove at the waist like a Coddington, but it’s not a Coddington. Also, I don't think those are the correct faint internal reflections for a Hastings. Regardless of the actual lens design, it is sharp and that’s what really matters. I have not measured the focal length yet, but I suspect it's close to 1". Addendum: While you have the lens retaining ring off, blacken it too. Normally, a brass ring like that would be finished in black oxide, think Ebonol C. I discovered the ring was a major source of stray light after I blackened the edge of the lens itself.

Quality Optics made a fine clip on loupe, and Amazon delivered it pronto and safe. When I need close vision this loupe obscures a bit of my left eye vision, but allows allows quick high magnification vision when an object is held 2 or 3 inches in front of my left eye. I own a dozen magnification tools, and for some jobs this beats them all for convenience.

I ordered two and one had a lens missing. The one that replaced it was ok, but was very tight and difficult to open because the lens plastic was too wide. For a cheap plastic lens, it is pretty good, works good and is clear. I like it, and it's worth the money. But, just realize the quality is very marginal and you may have to send on back to get a good one. Luck of the draw.

This was money well spent! The magnifier is crystal clear and easy to handle. Very well made. The case is sturdy leather with a nice closure snap. Glad I spent the extra $$$. This will last me a lifetime.

Just got these yesterday and have tried them out a bit today. I bought a similar product from Harbor Freight and used it for a bit, but those lenses are lower quality. These ones are a bit heavier, but that's due to a more solid shift, and thicker higher quality glass. I have no significant problems so far, but have only been wearing them a few hours. I'll mention, too, that I 3D printed an attachment for my glasses, so I can't comment on the effectiveness of the alligator clip. You'll notice in my image that there are only 2 lenses, but that's just because I removed 1. I also appreciate how well it was packaged, and that the included a nice cleaning cloth with it.

I did not realize how badly designed the clip was made before purchasing. These will not clip onto any glasses that are not wire frames. I'm not even sure how they could clip onto those, given that these need to be near the front, where the hinges are, and thus the thickest area. I have very thin plastic frames and these slip off instantly. Please change your clip to a claw style, these are terrible!

The vendor did refund after contact & complaint. Loupe seemed ok otherwise.

Esta bien para observar detenidamente algo pero no para trabajar con ellos. Al estar demasiado cerca del objeto las lentes interfieren con el movimiento de mi mano, ya sea con pinzas o desarmadores Las lentes rozan con las gafas. Tuve que poner una rondana de cuero que las separara un poco mas. Son lindas, curiosas, y se ven increibles. Pero no me sirvieron para trabajar.

A quality item with two very usable glass lenses. Very easy to fit to spectacles, easy to use and stay solidly attached to glasses.
