For Someone Just Starting Out
This book is a great resource for someone just starting out. It's an easy read and really makes you think about not just what you want but about the needs of the client as well. Not only is it a great resource but it also contains many more in the back to help further your business along. I know I will read this over and over again for many years to come.

Useful read!
A great resource for anyone looking to get into the dog business. There's a lot of useful info in this book and a LOT of excellent resources in th back, too. It's geared more towards a training business and less towards walking or daycare, but walkers could still find a lot of the business jargon useful.

Very useful for dog pros
I am a veterinarian and a dog trainer. I'm currently looking into the idea of setting up a facility that combines doggie daycare, grooming, training etc. So when I bought the book I was somehow expecting practical tips on floor material and ideal facility setup. But what I got was far more valuable. For example tips on how to avoid professional burnout, describing all those situations I've experienced myself and have almost made me give up on the dog business... but now I have lots of wonderful tips to help me get through it properly and help me enjoy this line of work. I haven't finished the book but so far it is so inspiring, I really recommend it to anyone who is in the dog business, or is about to start.

I would certainly recommend it to others
The text is written in a way that is understandable. I felt that it contains important information for those who may be interested in starting up a dog-related business, without going into so much detail as to overwhelm the reader. I would certainly recommend it to others!

Inspiring! I *can* do this!!
Great resource especially for those starting out who have no idea where to begin. Also a good source to reference once the business is going to make it better! So much info in one easy reference.

Good starter book
I'm currently reading the book titled How to Run a Dog Business, etc. As an aspiring dog trainer, I thought it would give me a bit more detail, but so far it is helpful, but not as extensive or comprehesive as I hoped.

Very good overview
This book provides a good overview of all facets of the dog business. There are so many options and this book touches on many of them. Thus the reader is given enough informtion to make educated decisions regarding the direction in which to go.

Va al grano para tener tu negocio de adiestramiento
Es una pena que este libro que este libro esté en inglés. Con los consejos que te da la autora paso a paso puede ser un gran profesional del adiestramiento canino

A very supportive book
This book could be very helpful for somebody starting their own dog business. It has case histories and practical ideas that make the book an interesting and useful read.I say it is supportive, because the whole tone of the book is one of optimism and enthusiasm for the new business owner. My only complaint is that it does not include more information about how to work with the dogs themselves as, say, a walker. The book assumes you know that.

brilliant reference for starting and running a dog business
Highly recommended to any canine professional thinking of starting out on their own, or doing so already. Very informative and relevant - from how to deal with client situations to setting prices and the legalities. Case studies throughout the book made it easier to relate to - very inspiring!

Useful
A really useful book for anyone thinking of starting up a dog business, however buyer beware this book is based on the American model so it does need some fine tuning to meet other countries needs, but the basics are of a sound working model
