Got this as a gift for a friend, and from what I saw, it came in a lovely container with a nice little paint sample page. Like most watercolors, you just need to wet the paint to get started. I personally prefer tube watercolors on a palette - but this set definitely has its place and you can use a painters knife and a seperate area if you like.The color tins are a good size, plenty for tons of art since a little paint goes a long way in most watercolor. Overall, the paints are easy to use and perform just as expected of watercolors. For those tipping their toes into art or are comparing options remember that whether it be expensive or cheap, art supplies don’t dictate the result of your work; if you splurge on imported Kobe beef it doesn’t mean you won’t burn it - start with what’s suitable for your current needs.These are perfect for practice, on the go, or for those who are fine working with what they got. I’m planning to pick up a set for myself so I can keep practicing watercolor outside of my local community classes!

I'm a professional artist, so my review comes with this perspective. The colors are absolutely gorgeous and do work on black paper. The colors build well and the chameleons are rather large in size. Some of the Chameleons work well alone, but most work better when mixed with other chameleons and they make such gorgeous shimmer effects. The metallic are really pretty too. For this price range, it would be hard to find this variety of colors that also build this well. Some colors, though buildable, are still a little transparent for my liking, but I will definitely be using these in my work. Especially as color toppers.

I LOVE this little paint set! I originally purchased for travel, but my teen uses it all the time at home! Colors are the perfect pigmentation, seem to be long lasting, and the metal tin is sturdy and closes firmly (and pretty!). Love the color swatch card that it came with to fill in yourself! It’s great to grab and go—I also purchased small watercolor postcards to go with and love completing a little project and sending to loved ones!

This is a great little watercolor set if you are just starting out and would like a variety of colors. The quality is student grade and the price is certainly right! The kit has some nice extras, such as paper, a pallet, pencil, sharpener and eraser. It closes and keeps everything neat and organized. I found the colors a bit on the lighter side. Not for you if you are looking for well pigmented paints. However, for me, I just wanted to dabble and experiement with watercolors and this certainly works well for that need. I must say that the quality of paper I used was good. I am sharing a couple of the paintings I have done following tutorials. Have some fun, and try this set, it is great to take along if you'd like to paint on site!

I am very new to watercolor painting but I’ve tried various different pallets. This one is by far the best! The colors are vibrant and apply to paper very smoothly! I am so impressed! I am buying a second pallet to keep at my office!

These are not the first watercolors I have had, but compared to my first set, these are much better. The colors are thick and rich, no matter how much water you add. I especially liked that the set comes with a brush you can fill with water so you don't need a rinse jar, and it also comes with a normal brush, pencil, sharpener, and eraser!!!! I also liked that it comes with a test sheet, some small water color paper, and a lovely velvet bag. One small add-on I also liked was the plastic mixing pan it comes with, which fits into the case. The paper, test sheet, and main box all fit into the velvet bag. Super high-quality! I am very pleased with this watercolor set, which is my favorite medium to use for all of my paintings! one last thing, this water color set doesn't make any mess at all, and you don't need anything else except what comes in this set. This set has 50 colors in it, compared to my old set which had 24 and no way to mix! Definitely worth the money. This watercolor set is very satisfactory. I am 10 and I love to draw and paint with this set.

My church decided to start small hobby groups. I am NOT a painter, and decided to join the watercolor painting group. I went to Amazon and bought all of the supplies I would need. For having never done water colors, these colors are rich and vibrant! They blend easy and are so smooth. I love the metal case it comes in which makes for easy cleanup and transporting in my canvas tote bag.

I was looking for a collection of watercolors that had metallics included and found this set. It has been my "GO TO" set for months now. The colors are easily blended in my palette. I simply use a spray bottle to activate the paint. It is small enough to travel with. The blues and greens have many shades for water and trees. The metallics make a nice accent for my paintings. This set comes with a small pack of very nice watercolor paper, an eraser, sponge, a brush and a watercolor brush pen. Have fun painting!
