This retractable clothes line is perfect for my small back garden. I bought this unit because it is compact and the clothes lines can be easily retracted when not in use in my small back garden. The unit has a stylish look and feels sturdy. I read reviews which included photos of broken units and tangled lines. Having studied photos of broken appliances I noted that some had been incorrectly positioned on walls at an angle which put considerable strain on the unit and the clothes lines. Some appear to have simply let go of the end of the clothesline which caused the clothesline to tangle and the internal spool and spring to jam. I am satisfied that good performance of the unit is depedent upon correct installation and use of the unit. I therefore have no negative comments or criticism of the unit that I have installed. I installed the unit high enough to reach the clothes line and high enough so that washing does not touch the ground. I therefore had to use a short step ladder to drill holes to mount the unit on the wall. I used a 6mm masonry drill bit on the hamner drill setting. The 2 hooks I screwed into a fence post and fence rail aporoximately 3ft apart, immediately opposite the spool unit. Thereby minimising strain on the unit that would damage it. I extend both clothes lines even if only one is required as this adds stability and reduces torsion on the unit. When retracting to clothes lines I walk them back to the unit to ensure that they don't tangle or jam the spring. When installing the unit I have considered and avoided factors that would damage the unit and/or the clothes line. If correctly installed I am confident that this retractable clothes line unit will have a good service life. My neighbour has the same unit which has been there for several years. I recommended this product withiut hesitation l.

Have limited garden space and previously had to use crowded clothes airers outdoors to try and dry clothes, this clothes line is so easy to install and manages a full wash load on its two lines, which dries so much better than anything else we’ve tried to use. Saves electricity as used to need final drying with a dehumidifier indoors to finish drying so excellent purchase. Only slightly negative comment is longevity, had a previous model which lost its retraction after one year, but this may have been a rogue one ! We will see how this goes, but would definitely recommend.

Purchased with relatively low expectations but found this washing line easy to install and excellent value for money. The lines themselves are of good quality and provide a good solid hanging space and this is helped by having dual lines available. Not the bulkiest of products and easy to fit to a wall (all necessary extras are included)

I bought the exact same washing line 4yrs ago and have been very pleased with it! It has been used an awful lot and has even been out in strong winds but unfortunately, the other day, I noticed the bottom plastic bracket had snapped and so it was wobbling around on the wall. I decided to purchase a new one and as I was paying for someone to take the old one down and replace it with a new one, I ordered this one again. I thought it would make life easier. Plus, I had been happy with the previous one. Today, I was hanging washing out for the first time and as I was still hanging it out, the line just snapped off completely, at the end, where it hooks onto the wall! (Not the box end) I couldn’t believe it!! And was so disappointed! I had still read reviews on this, before purchasing and had seen some negative reviews but as my previous one had lasted 4yrs, I still ordered another! I wish I hadn’t bothered! I don’t know if it is made differently now or whether I was just really lucky before but I really wouldn’t recommend this now! I have to say, I don’t know how long retractable washing lines usually last and whether 4yrs was good or bad? But 2 minutes and a couple of items on the line, is shocking! I contacted Amazon who are refunding me for the item.

I needed a new retractable washing line and ordered this as a direct replacement for the same model I bought a few years ago. I assumed it would be a simple swap: loosen two screws, lift the old unit off, slide the new one on, tighten up, and job done. Unfortunately, despite being the same make, the mounting bracket has been changed. The screw holes are now on the opposite side, which meant the new unit would not fit the existing fixings. Instead of a quick replacement, I had to re-drill the wall and reposition the screws. The washing line itself works fine, but changing the bracket design on what appears to be the same product is frustrating and completely unnecessary. If you’re replacing an older version, be aware that it may not be a straight swap. Pros: • Works well once installed • Decent quality washing line Cons: • Mounting bracket design changed • Not compatible with older installations • Turns a simple job into a hassle Would have been a 5-star review if they’d kept the bracket the same.

Excellent product. Very simple to install with everything that was needed (okay, you need a drill and a screwdriver but I mean the fittings). The case looks compact and is neat. The cords were really long so we cut down to what we needed as the shorter it was, the stronger the withdraw pull.
