THE PRISON HEALER : Noni, Lynette: desertcart.in: Books Review: Goodness what a ride ! - This was a great read. I absolutely was Gob smacked with the twists and that ending- I did not see that coming. 💕 I have already got the next book I. This trilogy. Review: I cannot wait for the sequel! - My Rating: 4.25 stars You know a book is good when you remember to write a review close to the release date! Prison Healer was a book that intrigued me because of its blurb. I mean how GREAT is the blurb! For once, the blurb did not disappoint. Kiva is in a real prison. She doesn't expect to get out and as readers we feel her hopelessness and we don't expect a prison heist or a knight in shining armour to rescue her. That's what really made me love this book. It focuses on setting the scene and builds all the characters very well. Before you know it, you're invested! I'm invested in Kiva's journey and I want to know what happens next. I also enjoyed the elemental challenges. Reminded me of Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. Basically, this book ticked all the boxes: * Strong Characters *Great World Building * Prison/Dystopian Setting * Fantasy+ Magic+ Romance * Right amount of mystique and mystery * An ending I did not see coming * A romance that did not make me cringe One thing that really impressed me about this book is how it managed to surprise me at the end. I don't want to spoil anyone but a lot of stuff happens that really took me by surprise. Overall, I cannot wait for the sequel. The only reason this is not getting a 5 is because I don't see myself re-reading the book, but I came very close to giving it a 5. Definitely worth a read! My Rating: 4.25 stars

So I started this book with high expectations. Midway through, it was pretty much the same, being dragged on a bit, but it was still quite good and I enjoyed the plot and character building (which the author does beautifully btw) but anyways I get to the last hundred pages holy mother of cows. This book turned into a nice little read to a literature masterpiece. And the last page? My jaw was on. The . Floor. I'm really really looking forward to the second book, because oh my gosh. Notes: this book is incredible slow. It has so much character building and a slower burn romance then holly jackson books. It takes a while to become invested, but if you enjoyed books like a cruel prince read this, because it has a similar pace. Other than that I'd highly recommend, gonna go find therapy now. (

I absolutely recommend this book to everyone. The story line, the character building, the romance, all of it is done so well. And the fact that its a clean romance, and no foul language. Very well done.

We follow Kiva, a girl that has spent last 10 years of her life in Zalindov, worst prison there is. At first I was surprised by how dark it is. Not very common for YA book. Incredible settings, infringed, lowest layers of society all looking just to survive. Dark and atmospheric, depicting all sides of human behavior. You will find the worst of the worst in Zalindov. Kiva is navigating this world for years, do what need to be done, trust no one, don’t bond or make connections, and all in order to survive. She is a testament to human resilience and silent bravery, all while being utterly humane and just. I was worried i would enjoy this book, and it did take me a little to get into it I’ll admit. But when it starts, it starts, Story is rich and layered. Characters complex and compelling. All i can say i cannot wait for book 2, so happy its also coming in 2021!
