How can you make this popcorn taste a little more like movie theater popcorn?

Not much you can do since movie theaters use oil and this is hot air. I use I Can't Believe It's Butter spray to at least give it a buttery taste.

How does the popcorn taste?

The popcorn has a very fresh taste, but since it's airpopped with no oils, it is very bland. I find that using yellow kernels instead of white makes the popcorn pop bigger and has somewhat more flavor, however I do add a butter spray to give it taste. It reminds of the same flavor as rice cakes if you've ever had those. It is definitely not your movie-style popcorn but I prefer it for the health benefits of not using oils.

Does this contain teflon or any non-stick surfaces?

After using this 3 times I threw it out. It didn't pop all the kernals, and it burnt about half what popped. It's not very well made. I would recommend you look for something else.
