Nice size and density
I have used regular lacrosse balls and tennis balls in the past, but decided to upgrade to the full body kit from deep recovery. These 4 inch massage balls are probably my favorite item in the kit. The size and density make these more comfortable to use on sore trigger spots than smaller/firmer options. They work well in the included mesh bag, creating a peanut shape that's great along the spine or legs. Using these along with the body track has been nice too, as it allows me to spread them out farther than the mesh bag but still hold them in place where needed. Definitely recommend these!

One of the amazing things I hide under my couch!
How can these balls not be "currently available" in the Amazon universe. It's a crime! Full disclosure...I already have a full family of Massage Track products. I am a true believer. You can search for my other reviews, but here's a quick blurb from one of them..."I paid attention to the warning to not overdo the first few times, and even then I got sore. My main objective was to get relief from headaches and from pain in my shoulder. I have a frayed rotator cuff, and it causes constant low-grade discomfort, and it interferes with my tennis game. After a few months, my discomfort is almost gone. I'm still nervous to hit overheads and power serves, but that's probably just in my head. Over the recent two week Xmas holiday, I got slack, and I did not use the track system at all. Today, at my computer, I can feel the tension creeping back into my head and my shoulder. I am at this moment reminded of what every day used to feel like, although it's much milder than it used to be. Tonight, I'll be getting back to the track."So, you can see I'm a true believer in the products. This is after I spent $90 for one massage and needed a more affordable permanent option. I haven't needed a massage since. (I've wanted one, but I haven't needed one...and that is a BIG difference). I recently added the Massage Track Travel Roller to my little MT family, and here's what I love. I already owned a big, nubby off-road tire looking roller. I hate it. It's really uncomfortable, and although the nubs are what I thought I wanted because I imagined deeper tissue massage, I found it intolerable. It won't roll on the floor. At my gym, there are the smooth rollers like this one, but they're big. I really like them. I can roll without getting stuck on the nubs. You know what I mean? You're hoping for a smooth roll, but the nubs won't cooperate? So I'm sold on the smooth foam rollers. What I REALLY like about this one is its size. It's much smaller than the gym ones, and I feel like I can do more with my lower back as a result. It's called a travel roller, but as a carry-on traveler I probably won't pack it, but that's really because I found something even better to pack, and they might actually take up the same amount of space. The massage track 4" balls. Seriously. You need to get these!!! In my photo you'll see all the things I have. If I had to choose only one item, it would be these balls. They are the bumble bee black and yellow stripey ones in the middle. I have no idea what they are made of, but they are BY FAR my favorite of all the balls. Somehow their diameter makes things happen. Before them, the really hard yellow lax-type balls in the pic were my favorite. I felt that they really worked my muscles, but they were almost too much at times. These 4" balls are even better. They aren't as hard, but they are still really firm. I know that doesn't make sense, but it's true. So the size and the firmness without being hard means I can really massage the muscles without saying "uncle!"Another blurb from my previous review is equally accurate for both the travel roller and the 4" balls:"Not only does using the system feel good, it gets me to slow down and actually take care of myself for the 30-ish minutes I spend doing it. That is such a small amount of time to spend on my physical health, and it makes me feel better about watching tv." (I use the Massage Track stuff while I Netflix). If you're on a budget, love deep-tissue massage, and like hiding things under your couch, the Massage Track products are for you. :)

Conscious design choices make excellent products.
If you've found my other reviews for Deep Recovery products, you can tell that I've been happy with my purchases. A lot of that stems from the fact that their items work as described, but there's a little more to it than that. When I first set out to find a Lacrosse ball to use for therapy, there were numerous options available from many companies. I had no idea if one was better than another. What made me stop and look at Deep Recovery's offerings were the details in their product descriptions. You could tell that they made conscious choices in their product designs to produce items that truly address problem aspects of the body. After watching their promotional videos, I could definitely tell a conscious design process was part of what the company employed. These aren't just random products thrown at a problem hoping luck will make a difference. With this specific product, the Larger Trigger Point Massage Ball Set, you're able to use it on areas of the body that other ball types wouldn't adequately address. Since the Large Trigger Point Massage Ball Set is bigger in diameter, it allows me to more easily work areas such as my lower back and chest. The density of the balls also makes a big difference. I'm a person with significant neuromuscular pain and allodynia, which makes finding any product to use an increased challenge. I think Deep Recovery has done an excellent job with their design and implementation. It's possible I may also find that I need to consider a couple of other ball types to address the chest due to my specific challenges, but I'll discover that in time and hopefully Deep Recovery will be the maker of those products as well. I think these work well on their own and can also benefit from being used in combination with the Deep Recovery Body Track. I'm quite happy with the Large Trigger Point Massage Ball Set.

Relief at last!
I have all of the Deep Recovery balls and they each have their place, but these might end up being my most used. I mainly use the others in the track devices but these are also great on their own. The larger size makes them really versatile. I've even used them against the wall. My focus so far has been neck, shoulders, back and the relief has been phenomenal. The foam is lightweight but very firm and does not compress much (if at all) with use. So very happy with these and all of the Deep Recovery products.

Just the right size and firmness
The large size of these allows for treating tenderness, tightness and trigger points in larger muscles such as quads and the entire thighs in general, lower back without much pain, chest and even neck! They are firm but not hard, which is good because you'll be placing a lot of your body weight on these; if they were too hard it would probably be too painful to use since getting rid of tenderness and trigger points is a progressive process.I am very satisfied with these firm, 4 inch balls from Deep Recovery.

Good size for areas a lacrosse ball might not work well for
I have so so many lacrosse balls, massage sticks, etc., These balls work especially well for certain areas like my pecs and back where it was previously more difficult to get the necessary pressure from a lacrosse ball, I think just because it was harder to turn into or the curve of back didn't rest heavy enough on to the smaller lacrosse ball. I use these on carpet but generally not fond of the non-rubber surface of this ball because it slips on tile and gym floors.

Beautifully designed, ergonomic massage balls for larger muscle groups
I bought these along with the entire set of massage balls: very soft, soft, firm, very firm and extra firm, and the body track. It seemed excessive but I'm so glad I did! The balls themselves are beautifully designed and the larger size is perfect for larger muscle groups. I emailed customer support via the website before ordering and they were SO helpful in explaining the different products to me. The instructional videos on the website are great and I'm really looking forward to using these regularly. Thanks!
