If you’re a beginner just get it. It works really well for a first time bass player. And the cable it comes with works for a ridiculous long amount of time. Now then I did replace the amp and guitar strap, but it you’re just starting out it works great. (Lower your action though)

I am a guitar player and not bass… That said I do know a little thing about instruments of this type. I was a little nervous that it would feel very cheap, and while it is no thousand dollar instrument it is more than serviceable for anyone learning the instrument for years to come. Fretboard is nicely shaped and frets filed smoothly. Action is a bit high but that can be adjusted to your needs. Absolutely no reason to spend more if you or your kid are just getting into playing.

I am an older gentleman who has played around with instruments all my life, but wanted to actually get good at something. So I bought this bass guitar, thinking "at $120 with shipping, what's the risk?" Turns out this is a REAL instrument, albeit on the low end. The amp is only good enough to learn with, and the feedback is pretty bad when you try to turn it up. But it gives you a rich deep sound at lower sound levels, plenty to learn with in your living room. The strings and frets are not top-notch, but good enough to learn the basics. Bottom line - if you want to dip your toes in and see if this is for you, you can't go wrong with this setup. I am honestly impressed by how much you get for so little!

Bought for my 12 year old son. Sounds pretty good but I will have to buy a better amplifier ( olny 20 watt) but for what it is , it's not bad.

My grandson is very delighted with his new bass guitar! It sounds great off the amplifier that came with it!

I bought this set for my granddaughter and she is totally delighted. She did the research for her first electric bass guitar and she decided it was the one for her.
