Works, easy to use, robust
Super convenient, inexpensive solution. Less hacky than my other breakouts, and smaller

Solid build, feels like good stuff and acts like it, too
I needed a connector board like these and haven't been disappointed. Initially I was unaware that a male and female DB9 were included, but it turns out to be a very good mistake on my part. Both are heavy duty, nothing flimsy about them at all. Very pleased.

Fixed a scale that had equipment dropped on it.
HS robotics team has a scale that is used to weigh robots and game pieces, parts etc. High precision, large scale a wheel chair could fit on. Broke when large equipment was dropped on the control pedestal ruining the connection between the lower scale unit and upper display/control unit. Ordered this part and told a student to fix it. Works like a charm!

Well Made but rather large. Keep in mind if you have stacked ports.
I have a number of devices with "Stacked" ports on the backs. These breakout connectors are to tall to use them if you have a row of com connectors on a device. As the picture shows there is no shell around these if you planned of making them pretty.

Handy 'tool'!
Love these when sorting out pins on serial connections

Very useful
I still use RS232 connections a lot for instrument control. The DB9 breakout connector is a great tool for my tests and projects.

Makes it easy to examine serial signals
I found this very easy to connect jumper wire to the various pins that I needed. And, if I invert these two connector boards and press them together at their bottom sides (where the foam is) where the connectors point in opposite directions then it makes it that much easier to make direct pin-to-pin connections (i.e., pin 1 to pin 1, etc.).

Pay attention to male/female end
I ordered the wrong connector at first. No big deal, they still do their job, but save yourself the 10$ and make sure you order the one with the correct male/female end.
