Great quality!
Maps and scratch offs, this is a great quality map for my son who travels with me and will be going to Europe next year. I bought one for myself, too! Hangs well with the magnetic frame not included.

its smaller than I thought I want to see all countries very clearly
Seems high quality - I guess. The black kind of weird.....simply too small for me.

Really fun map to track your travels
I've always wanted one of these, just to highlight where I've been, and where I would like to go. The kit comes with a tool to scratch off the coating, a microfiber cloth, and a magnifying straight edge. It comes rolled up in a slender box, which makes working with this pretty difficult. I laid mine out for a couple weeks with books on top of it, and it straightened out for the most part. The coating comes off fairly easily, similar to a scratch off lottery ticket. It can be pretty tricky to get some of the little European countries though. There are also some landmarks at the bottom of the map to scratch off, as well as a flag for every country. Each of the states in the US, Canada, and Australia are identified to you can section those off. There is a huge logo in the bottom right hand corner of the map that I don't care for. I wish it was smaller, or maybe on the back, or just not there at all. It's a bit intrusive and takes the whole look down a notch in quality (in my opinion). This kit comes with stickers that are way cheesy, and are enormous when compared to the size of the countries; they won't see use. Also, the tool used to scratch off the coating is a little sharp. If you use too much pressure, you will cut right through the glossy image and damage the map surface. I did it in a couple places, but luckily it's not really noticeable because I stopped in time.Overall, this is a very fun way to display where you've been in the world, and scratching off the countries can be very zen; like putting a puzzle together. It also spawns random memories as you scratch off each country. I will be ordering a map frame for this and hanging it up. Its a definite motivator to travel more. I've enjoyed this little project, and I highly recommend it for the world traveler.

Nice quality and fun to use
I've traveled to many places and with a couple of kids we are making it a family affair. Remembering where we've traveled to has gotten easier with this fun interactive map. Instead of putting a sticker or pin on a regular map, you simple scratch off the country or state you have visited. The tools it comes with are handy as you have a guitar pick for scratching large areas and a smaller "pen" for finer sections. The cloth wipe is interesting as I guess you'd have to shake it out well afterwards or rinse it off. I've just been using a tissue and throwing it away. The stickers it comes with are odd shapes and fairly large while some of the countries are small, including any island nations. I probably won't use very many of those. It's very therapeutic scratching these off and gave me a sense of accomplishment revealing the colorful countries underneath.Obviously, you need to be prepared for the small mess it makes the more you scratch off. I was very aware of this when I bought it so it doesn't bother me at all. Once I've got everything scratched off and up-to-date, I'll hang it up on a wall and then when I visit new places, I'll need to scratch it off while it's still hanging which could leave a mess of flakes below it. Also, apparently I scratched too hard on one country as it took off the thin layer of plastic on the surface of the paper and began digging into the paper itself. This was my fault for scratching too hard/long on one spot but it didn't seem inordinate when I was doing it yet it still started getting ruined.Lastly, it's not as precise as using a pin since the pins really highlight each city you have been in. With this one, since I've visited both Sidney and Brisbane Australia, I did it at the province level which means now a huge chunk of Australia is scratched off when I've only been in two cities. If you want a fun and interactive way of keeping track of where you've traveled, I would recommend this poster.
