Fascinating book

I absolutely love this book from what I have read so far.It is full of information and great photographs and is really going to help me with my research while writing my book (which is fictional). I wanted to include facts in my book. Thank you so much. I am so excited to read it properly. I love the cover too! Great value for money.

I took a bit of a chance on this and wasn't disappointed. As somebody that's also taken a wander round some of the country's abandoned hospitals in the name of curiosity I wondered whether this cluster of those around London would interest me when it wasn't a region I knew first hand - but it kept my attention well, pitched with enough detail to be comprehensive but not to overwhelm the casual reader. I can imagine anyone that lived near these hospitals or had connections to them - as so many people will have done historically - or those with a general interest in the subject, will find this an interesting and accessible read.Hoping for a similarly comprehensive follow up covering the north, and other regions of the UK.

A really good read of London's various county asylums. Well written in a lively style with plenty of information on origins, history, final days and what films they appeared in. How would I improve it? Include the institutions of the Metropolitan Asylums Board and make it A4 with more photos.
