Steam vents work to drain liquids off cooked pasta!
Update: using it 2 or 3 times a day & I love it. I'm not as careful about cleaning it as I was initially & have found it's really easy to not get the electrical side wet. I also found that it only takes a tiny bit of oil to make the food not stick so much if not cleaned immediately. NOTE: Cleaning immediately is not good unless using hot water because the pan is still hot & sudden tempertature changes on the surface of ceramic coatings is a good way to ruin the ceramic coating. Some reviewers seemed to think it needed more temperature choices, but honestly, it does everything I need it to do w/ only the 2 temp choices. I've also noticed it doesn't make the counter hot underneath it & I really appreciate that. The sides aren't the cool touch kind, but not as hot as regular pots get on stovetops. I've touched the sides during cooking & not gotten burned as long as I didn't leave my hand there, but don't recommend doing that. It actually cooks more food @ one time than I thought it would. I wanted a small pot for cooking just for one person. This does look perfect for that. But I've really had to learn to reduce the am't of food I cook in it by a lot. It's bigger than it appears. It's very much like the modern looking miniture version of the age old electric skillets that we all grew up with & much more suited for small kitchens & smaller meals. Initial review: The steam vents in the lid make this SO EASY to drain the boiling water from cooked pasta. It's my favorite feature! Next favorite is that the white pot comes w/ ceramic glaze instead of Teflon (the black pot is Teflon). Teflon gives off airborne gas that will kill a pet bird that breathes it. Teflon eventually flakes off in food too. Ceramic is great along as taken care of w/ non-scratch bamboo wooden or silicone utensils & non-scratch scrubbers when cleaning. I've had none of the trouble some reviewers mentioned when cleaning this pot. I hand clean it w/ dish soap under a running faucet w/ the electrical plug in feature facing away from the running water. I also hold the pot so the water only goes inside the pot & flows into the sink w/o running down the side of the pot. I don't wash or rinse the outer sides or bottom @ all. But I've not gotten food on the outer sides of the pot to need to clean there & would use a cleaning rag instead of running water on the outside if I ever do get food there. I haven't had any water droplets around the plug in area doing it this way & it's been easy for me to clean it this way. I wouldn't advice letting a kid do it tho for fear they wouldn't be as careful & get water all over it. It has a silicone cover that covers the plug in area too that helps, but it isn't exactly waterproof there. Still no problem for me. Spaghetti cooks up so quick & one pot of spaghetti is plenty for 2 people. Looks too small but it'll surprise you. My 3rd favorite thing is it's small. I wanted something for better portion control, so small was good. It's still able to cook enough for extras or a couple of people, so I still have to watch portions, but it's closer to what I wanted in size. I'm working on only cooking half full pots of food in this now, or maybe even a third full. It cooks fast. I like not spending a lot of time cooking! It does however need to be either cleaned right away or sit w/ water in it because everyone that said food sticks if not cleaned immediately was right. Cleans easy tho & only takes a minute. And of course water sitting in it til you want to fool w/ cleaning it later always works too. As far as food sticking during cooking, I've not had that problem yet. So far the ceramic surface makes non-stick cooking work. Google how to keep ceramic pans slick & non-stick if you don't know tho because using things like Pam spray & things you'd think would help can actually turn some ceramic pans into sticking food magnets. My 1st ceramic skillet was my learning curve & I learned the hard way about that. Ceramic pans are the easiest & best things if you just Google what to not do w/ them. Just a suggestion to help someone new to nonstick ceramic pans. Haven't tried the steamer yet, but plan to real soon for steaming eggs in their shells instead of hard boiling them, fish, & corn on the cob. My initial thought when seeing the plug in placement located on the side of the pot was that it was a bad design. I thought about the plug placement & after reading reviews from other similar pots that had the plug in the handle, I've come to the conclusion as to why this one was made w/ the plug in on the side of the pot instead of the handle. Seems like the handle is better placement for it~ especially for cleaning purposes. But reviewers have been saying the cord puts enough weight on the handle to make those pots tip over toward the handle side & splash hot water & food out. Makes sense after thinking about it & also after using this one & seeing how stable it is. So what some may think is a design flaw is actually a safer solution. If my opinion after more use of this pot changes (it's getting daily use!), I'll definitely update this review w/ anything I find wrong w/ it. The steam vents doubling as pour spouts is above & beyond other similar pots & I LOVE that!

This little cooker WORKS... and came with the spatula I didn't know I needed
I actually had buyer's remorse the moment I clicked the purchase button, but this little cookpot has turned out to be a champ. I got it for camping, but it cooks so much hotter and faster than my gas stovetop that I often use it at home too. If you want a pot of boiling water for pasta, there's no way to get it faster. Literally. Unless you have a commercial wok stove or access to nuclear fusion. That said, there are a couple of tricky design points: You'd think a squared pot would pour cleanly from a corner, but the lip on this one *makes* food drip down the side. Square pot = lid can fall into food if not put carefully back on. The little screws that keep the lid together hold oil, and along with a complicated lip design make the lid quite difficult to clean properly. There are only 2 heat settings, so you need to cycle between them manually to control the heat. Having the cord stick out the backside of the pot is quite clumsy... I sure wish it was tucked underneath the handle instead. The non-stick coating is very effective, but also very delicate. I chipped mine with a spoon right out of the gate and now religiously use only plastic/wood utensiles. Speaking of which- OMG BEST SILICONE SPATULA EVER!!! I wish I could get 2-3 more just like it! Since the unit is non-submersible, cleaning can be somewhat tedius/difficult. Overall though, I'm really pleased with this little cookpot. It's been a great boon both at camp and at home. If you RV or camp with electrical access, this is SIX BILLIONTY times better than an electric stovetop.

No kitchen necessary!
I love this little thing! No kitchen necessary and for me that is everything at the moment. It's lightweight, takes up almost no space its cute. I love that the cord detaches so I can leave it plugged in and move just the pot out of the way when necessary. I've made everything from simple eggs or grilled cheese to stir-fry or salmon with steamed veggies. Let's not forget its deep enough to fry in as well. I haven't done that in it yet though just because of dealing with the oil. It heats up fast and cleans super easy, just wipe it out with a wet paper towel while its still hot and everything will come right off. Its perfect for a single person or great for 2 people. You can definitely fit 2 portions just not 2 sandwiches at a time. At under $40 this is a great value to me as it allows me to cook food again while I don't have kitchen appliances. It would definitely be great for hotel/college dorm rooms, camping, or van life! Highly recommend.

Cooks great.
The skillet unit is great. I don’t like the cheaply made handle and it’s either high or low heat.

Happy with how quickly it warms up and cooks the food. Perfect for a workplace lunch. Easy to wipe out afterward, nothing has stuck and had to be scrubbed.

It’s 18 months since I bought this little electric pan for my camper van - and it’s never yet made it to my van - because I’m always using it in the kitchen! I live alone, so try to avoid using the big cooker due to costs, but this electric pan just sits next to it, and even for preference I will reach for it. In fact last time I had my family staying (9 of us with kids, grandkids and spouses) I still found myself using this in preference to the gas hob. I mainly use it for frying - eggs, bacon, omelettes, onions, steak, spam, mushrooms, beef burgers (3 fit easily, 4 are a squash) - all come out brilliantly. Stir fry’s are great too. The steamer is super too and I’ve used it a few times for vegetables. (In fact I had a dedicated steamer which I’ve now let go and saved the space, due to this one.) I was a bit concerned how the non stick sort of surface would hold up, but it’s doing fine - a bit darker but still good and still wipes clean easily. I am very careful though to only use non metallic tools in it, larger only using the spatula that came with it. I was even able to use it during a power cut as at low level it’s 300 w and my power bank is 700 watt, so at low level it was fine (though naturally did rather deplete the bank, and the high setting would have been too high). Overall after a lot of use it’s one of the most useful items in my kitchen and perfect for a solo chef.
