Mountain Daddy's Milk & Honey (Spice in the Mountains)

This book was a wonderful combination of sweet and smutty. I really liked that Maggie had total autonomy in everything that happened, and Ben, who was so reluctant to start, wholeheartedly supported Maggie’s decisions while maintaining his loving dominance over her. An excellently crafted story of love, lust, curiosity, and exploration between a former father figure and the young woman who seeks him out to fulfill her desires, even if he does delay her gratification, he makes it worth it.

I did not know that I would find this so enticing! It was hot! I don’t love the step dad angle, though this one did it in the best way I’ve seen so far, and it’s the only thing holding me back from full on 5 stars because this was amazing! Who knew that milking could be such a turn on?

3.5 stars This was the best written of the age gap/milking stories that I’ve read recently. I think it had to do with the author had more time to set the scene, but I also because there was more care given into making sure the FMC would have pleasure in sex. There is definitely an age gap (18 vs mid 40s) and the MC was her mom’s boyfriend for 2 years when she was 9. This story was palatable for me because they hadn’t seen each other in 8 years and it was clear he hadn’t fostered inappropriate thoughts about her when she was younger. With that said, how they go about exploring her curiosity was interesting. It wasn’t belittled but was thought out and explained. Do I think it’s plausible? Not really, but what do I know except it made for an interesting (and surprisingly hot) read.

I wrote the following review for Spice in the Mountains Book 2, but I believe it should be repeated here. While both books 1 and 2 are listed as "standalones, the author could have named them Spice in the Mountains Duet, and it would not have been wrong. As you can tell, I'm a believer....!! Elena Dawne is an author new to me, but I was so entertained by her writing that I downloaded not only her previous book, Mountain Daddy’s Milk & Honey (book 1), but also all her other books. I also downloaded the books she wrote under the name of Ashley Logan. While all her books are standalones, I decided to read book 1 before reading Milk & Honeymoon (book 2). Boy, am I ever glad I did. It made my enjoyment of book 2 so much ….. more. I was introduced to the enjoyment with which Ms. Dawne/Logan writes her books from the beginning. “WARNING. If you’re afraid to get wet, then this book is not for you. The content is written to excite and delight. This is a work of FICTION. Kindle Edition.” That something so innocuous as her “Warning” page should make me laugh out loud and beckon me to sit back and enjoy the ride is not what I was expecting; it was, however, exactly what she delivered from start to finish. Yes, it is “smut,” but she has so much fun with her characters, and her love for them shows through all she writes; better yet, she invites her readers to enjoy her characters with her. What she does NOT do is demean either her characters or her readers. In her “Author’s Note,” she states “the plot is thin, the steam is high, and the kinks are plentiful. This is explicit erotica. This book is a sequel, but can be read as a standalone.” While the plot may well be “thin,” what made me enjoy the books so much was that her writing style was excellent, her characterizations delightful, and the hero swoon worthy. In addition, the heroine, young as she was, was no milquetoast (or does that apply only to men? maybe a delicate, frail damsel-in-distress would be more accurate?). Whichever way, you get the point. I recommend this book highly for its fun, light-hearted portrayal of people enjoying life, no matter the “kink.” She does not shame, nor make fun, of whatever “floats your boat.”.

Maggie had always craved Daddy Ben’s gentle touch and she was primed to get Ben’s attention after all these years. Running his own dairy farm kept Ben busy, yet Maggie seemed to offer an extra hand. Maggie is hot for Ben and does everything she can to get his attention. As she primes the pump, Maggie is seeping with sweetness and Ben knows exactly how to make the cream rise. Mountain Daddy’s Milk and Honey is a novella that certainly squeezed out as much naughtiness as possible.

I’ve read a few hucow books before, and this one felt like it was trying to go there without fully committing. It didn’t quite hit the vibe you’d expect from a typical hucow story. Even though it’s not directly called hucow, the description—“This age-gap, virgin hucow, and alpha bull book”—definitely gives off that impression, so I went in with certain expectations. That said, it completely nailed the kinky side of things. If you’re into "daddy," milking/lactation kinks, and alpha energy, this book is all about that. The spicy scenes at first were fun, hitting all the right spots. But as the story went on, they started to feel a little over the top and repetitive, losing some of their impact. Another thing that threw me off was the lack of any real transition—it went from nothing to full-blown smut in no time, which felt a bit jarring. It’s definitely a fun, smutty ride, but if you’re looking for more depth, better pacing, or world-building to really sink into, this one might not fully deliver.

I really enjoyed reading Mountain Daddy’s Milk & Honey!!! All about Maggie a nineteen year old girl whose a step-daughter & Ben is forty-three years old a mountain man and a stepdaddy. Ten years ago a women & her young daughter was came to live with him, on his remote farm in the middle of nowhere. They stayed with him for five years, then she up and left taking the little girl with her. Maggie was ten when her mom moved them to a city. She turned nineteen, graduated high school and took a bus all her belongings back to the farm. Read about Maggie & Ben and how love & remote living change one’s perspective!! Lots of emotions & toe curling incidents throughout the story!!! Must Read!!!!
