Great unit for the price. Feature rich.
Love the unit. Had it professionally installed and it works fantastic. Syncs to my phone seamlessly and the sound quality is very good. The touch screen is responsive and easy to navigate and the unit has most features needed to enjoy music and listen/take phone calls. You can even upload photos to the unit. I haven’t tried that one yet, but it is a very good unit and looks amazing in my 2011 Jeep JK.

Awesome Stereo with Wireless Apple Carplay and Android Auto
I recently upgraded the stereo in my truck from the Jensen CAR710W to this Sony XAV-AX4000. The Jensen unit was pretty solid for about a year and a half, but after a firmware update wireless Android Auto and Apple Carplay failed to connect at least 50% of the time. I was looking for something with a better screen, faster boot time, idata link maestro compatibility, and wireless Android Auto and Apple Carplay. This stereo checks all of those boxes. The stereo packs quite a bit of really nice features if you use an idatalink maestro and makes my 2013 Tacoma feel like a 2022. Anyone that has used Android Auto or Apple Carplay know that especially for short trips plugging in your phone every time you get in your vehicle becomes a major pain. I'm happy to say that the wireless connection for both Carplay and Android Auto is rock solid. I have not had a single disconnect in the week I've had the stereo installed. The amount of time it takes to boot up and connect my phone wirelessly (via Android Auto or Carplay) is a total of 10 seconds. I have tested and used quite a bit of rental vehicles and my own vehicles with wireless and wired Android Auto and Apple Carplay and I have yet to come across a stereo that connects this fast other than the Sony XAV-AX9500es (which is much more expensive than this unit). I did see some groans about the anti-glare film on the screen, but for me personally it is a non-issue. It makes the screen very easy to see in direct sunlight. It's much easier to see in sunlight than my Jensen CAR710W was and the countless OEM stereos I have used in rental vehicles over the last 3-4 years. Bottom line, if you're looking for a stereo that is feature rich, fast booting, has wireless Android Auto/Apple Carplay, great sound, plenty of EQ options, and will stand the test of time go with this head unit. I'll update this review in the future if I have any issues with the stereo.

Great radio for navigation and handsfree.
This is an awesome radio. Replaced a factory G35 radio. Works great with Android Auto, navigation is top notch. The only thing that I would like is a radio interface for the navigation screen. Like preset number, station frequency or RDS on the bottom of the map.

Physical buttons are a win, dim screen not so much
Great stereo, don't get discouraged by the resistive screen, it's as responsive as a capacitive one. If I didn't know I wouldn't be able to tell. The only big downside with this Sony is that the screen is too dim in broad daylight. It's really hard to see. The pre-amp voltage is low too at just 2V. The rest is great. Lots of functions like crossover, EQ with many bands, wireless CarPlay and AA and the biggest pro in my book: physical buttons.

Modern Features That Breathe New Life Into an Older Jeep
I installed the Sony XAV-AX4000 in my 2009 Jeep Wrangler, and the fit was perfect once I added the installation kit. The installation itself was straightforward and immediately brought modern tech like wireless CarPlay and Android Auto to the vehicle. I also added a backup camera, and it works smoothly with the unit. The only downside for me is the interface, which feels functional but not very polished. Overall, I really like the radio and how much it improves the driving experience. What I cared about when purchasing • Needed to fit cleanly in a 2009 Jeep Wrangler (with install kit) • Easy installation • Support for adding a backup camera • Brings modern CarPlay/Android Auto features to an older vehicle

Not as Advertised
It appears that there are different variations of this head unit. The one I received that I purchased through Amazon does not have the connection for the SiriusXM SXV300 tuner. It has become apparent that there are sellers on Amazon that are selling non-U.S. versions of items like Car Audio that is to be sold in other countries. That also will affect any warranties should the item fail as other countries have different laws regarding consumer protection. I attached the pictures showing the difference between the 2. On the first picture of the back of the 2 units, the one on the left is a U.S version, the one on the right is the version for Mexico. On the second picture, I circled the picture showing the words - " Solo Para Mexico" - Only For Mexico. So my advise is to look and ensure that when you buy an electronic item such as Car Audio Head Unit, just make sure it is a U.S Version. I returned the Mexico version but also, when I purchased the legit U.S Version, the price of the unit went up $100 and I purchased it from a local vendor which price matches what is on Amazon. Paying the extra $$ makes it painful, specially when I should have received a U.S version to begin with. Would be nice if the seller or Amazon would split the cost difference since the unit should not have been sold in the U.S.

Amazing product
Put this radio in a 2016 ford focus, sounds amazing. very clear audio on stock door speakers. My only other aftermarket radio went out. 10/10 would recommend this product, wireless apple carplay makes a huge difference. I love the hpf and lpf for door speakers and subs, the preamp outputs arent as strong but its very much clear nonetheless. Head unit functionality is incredible.

Great upgrade
Very good price and quality. Hired someone to do the install. Sound quality is better than OEM. Assimilated easily with my system.
