Hello,our bento lunch container is 1250ml with 5 compartments, the largest one can hold a full sandwich. You can pair with more vegetables and fruits to meet your child's daily needs.

Q: Is there anywhere to place a ice/gel pack to keep the food cool?

Not really. The compartments are all too small for anything like that. There isn’t a gap above or beneath the insert either.

Q: Are these lunch boxes dishwasher and refrigerator safe?

Yes, as they advertise. The lunch box is made of high quality material and can be placed in the refrigerator, microwave and dishwasher. (But note that only the white tray can be placed in the microwave or dishwasher.)
