I have a trident pole for a longer trident than the ones included in this set, but the 8mm thread fits just the same as the original. I like these smaller trident heads, for smaller prey. Always use the correct tool for the job, and jabbing a small fish, frog, or crab with an oversized barb just makes a mess and ruins your catch. These tridents are made very well, from quality stainless steel, and they have very aggressive barbing. So aggressive, in-fact, that I'm going to smooth them out just a bit, so I don't have to destroy my catch while pulling it off the tines. These are well built heads that will result in a great frog season this year. They screw into the correct head very well and will work perfect.

It's got a threaded stud to hook up to a pole. I grew up with gigs that were hollow and slid over the pole. I haven't used this yet because I don't know how to attach it. But it seems well made and I'm looking forward to frogs and flounder, if I can get it on a pole.

The description clearly states it comes with the rod but it did not.
