I never verified this against a blood ketometer so I cannot confirm its accuracy, but I can attest that the readings are at least consistent. This measures ketones in PPM, where optimal ketogenic range is defined as between 10 PPM and 39 PPM. Three readings taken one after another typically give results within 2 PPM. This is a power-hungry device and chews through a pair of AAA batteries in a matter of weeks, but I am glad that the manufacturer chose to prioritize precision over energy efficiency. I solved the energy efficiency problem by improvising a USB-to-3V adapter, and it has been running off USB ever since.

I bought this product and had to return it for an exchange because it did not work. The second didn't work either, but I missed the return window and now I'm stuck with it, along with the extra mouthpieces that I bought (from another seller). Specifically, the product is wildly inaccurate, showing values from 0 to 15 for the same person within an hour, despite following all directions for clearing and resetting. Very disappointing, as I would like to monitor my ketones for improving my diet and help.

It works really well and is easy to use. It showed me just how far out of ketosis I have gotten. Much easier than strips.
