They are small bright red football shape gel pills. No white color at all.

Q: My wife is not able to swallow capsules. Can the capsule be opened and the liquid added to a drink?

The capsule is really called a "softgel". It does not consist of two parts filled and pressed together. I took one of the softgels, pierced it with a small sharp knife (carefully, its very small) and some liquid came out. With effort, it can be squeezed, the liquid mixed or drunk on its own and taken separately, but I don't know if there are stool softener components in the capsule skin that you would forgo with this technique. Maybe there are liquid or powder softeners you can locate.

Q: What is the expiration date?

1000 capsule product was ordered and delivered in February, 2021. Expiration date: February, 2022. That means about 630 capsules (almost 2/3) will expire before taking them. Not acceptable. I'm sending back.
