Bheka Wine Yoga Sandbag 10lbs Filled Heavy Duty

I bought this because I found it relaxing when I tried it in yoga class. I have chronic fascia pain and I tried resting it over one shoulder (which gives me pain) when I went to bed and it really relaxed the fascia & muscles. Next I tried it on one hip/gluteal area which also gives me pain and again, it really relaxed everything. I really love it.

I really wanted to like these sandbags, but the sand filling is so fine, and the choice of materials is such, that the bags produce clouds of dust every time you move them. There's an inner bag (with the sand inside) and a woven, cloth outer bag. Together, those layers might sound like a substantial barrier, but they're not. I thought the bags might "clean up" after some use, but after several months, they're still farting clouds of powdery sand and presumably will be until there's no sand left inside -- which would take centuries! No offense to this company but unless you're practicing on the beach or in a sandbox, skip these. I've been wrapping them in plastic garbage can liners to use them, which is inconvenient and a little noisy during practice. If there's a yoga sandbag out there that's clean and dust-free, please point me to it.

If you use sand bags for Yoga you will appreciate this bag! It has the inner lining and zippers, so no dust, and not filled to the brim like Hugger Mugger bags, no leaking sand either. Never buy a sand bag that does not have an inner liner. Happy in Montana!
