WOW! Best Purchase in 2021.
I've owned my 1960s Townhome for 10 years now. The kitchen drain has always been problematic. It got better when I got rid of the garbage disposal but has always drained slowly and would occasionally clog and not drain at all. I've used all manner of chemicals (Drano, Liquid Plummer, etc, etc) on it. Sometimes the Thrift Drain Opener chemical would improve the flow as it has done in many other drains in my home. In this most recent episode of fully clogged drain I did everything I could --- power snaked it, plunged it, Thrift drain cleaner several times, tried suction it out with my powerful shop vac. NOTHING WORKED. We had standing water that would take days to drain and leave a disgusting mess in the sink. We are a household of 7. I watched endless videos online about clearing drains and almost decide to buy a pressure washer and water jet kit to clear this clogged drain. Water jetting would have definitely worked, but it would have been messy. Minimum cost to DIY is about $200 for equipment. Getting a professional plumber to water jet would be $500 to $1000.And then I came across this Drain King product on AMAZON. Watched some Youtube vids and decided it was worth a shot. No need to buy it with the sink adaptor thing. You can buy it by itself. Just make sure you choose a size appropriate for the pipe you're inserting it into. I removed J trap and all other pipes so that I could put it in the pipe that goes into the wall. The directions say insert 4 feet. This is unnecessary. I could only insert mine about 10 inches before I hit an elbow. Connect to regular garden hose, put it in the pipe, have your helper turn on the water. It expands immediately and seals the pipe. No water back flows. I ran it with water going full blast. It made some noises but not too much that I could hear. Ran it for 5 minutes --- that's a lot of water. Could hear it running and clearing the pipe. I ran up and downstairs to make sure it wasn't coming out another drain or leaking out the wall or something else catastrophic. But all was fine. After 5 minutes I shut it off checked everything again and turned it on for another 5 minutes. Took the hose back outside and reassembled all kitchen sink components. My kitchen drain ran faster than ever before. Faucet open at full blast could not create standing water in the sink. This drain has never worked so well. To be honest I was completely shocked at how easy this was to do. I was basically crying tears of joy. This effing kitchen drain has vexed me for years and years. Who knew a $12 solution existed? It was more work reassembling all the components than it was to clear the drain. No chemicals, very little effort, and so easy that my elderly mother could do it if I showed her how. This is an amazing product. I believe it works by overwhelming a blockage with water and air pressure. A lot of pressure is generated by a garden hose at full blast. Whatever was in my pipes is gone now. And if the clog comes back I will break Drain King out again confident it will amaze me. Solid 110% buy recommendation. Just make sure you can insert it fully into the pipe.

Patience and a little strength will get your drain cleared, fantastic product!
We live in a home built on a slab with all the plumbing in the slab. The drain lines are cast iron. Every month for nine years, we would start getting slow running drainage in the kitchen sink and tub, and a toilet or two. Every four months or so we would break down and call the plumber who would put some chemical down the pipes or a snake with a motor, would back up another and they would have to clear that one as well. We had tried a myriad of things, plumber’s helper, vinegar and baking soda, drain cleaners from every shelf, two different lengths of snakes. Lots of accusations of what should be allowed down drains to the septic tank... I was at the point I wanted to pay out big bucks to send a camera down the line and see what we were up against before cutting out the slab.We decided on the Drain King It is by far the best thing we have purchased in the plumbing category. Read and follow the directions, it couldn’t be easier. We worked on the kitchen sink. There’s a bit of a learning curve but have patience. If you have a water cut off connector for your hose, you can do this by yourself. If not, you will need another person. Connect the Drain King, use the attachment if you have a cross drain. Give it time..a good bit of time. The bladder fills up and it’s a bit of a chore to hold on to. I wasn’t successful in figuring out how to get it the automatic lock to lock in. This could be due to the sink drain as it has a cross bar in it, or the tub in which I had to put it in almost a 45 degree angle. The bladder didn’t puncture when pressing up agains four tabs in the drain. The Drain King feels like it’s doing nothing for a good while, then you feel the pressure building, the sound will change when it goes into what I call the pressure washer mode. And the bladder starts in like a jack hammer feel. Give it a bit to work and eventually it goes back down to feeling like a garden hose. The bathtub was by far the most aggravating. When I didn’t get it in the drain far enough, water and sludge came back up through the overflow drain. Once I got it in correctly, it took maybe five minutes to clear the lines. It’s been over a month now and all drains are draining really well. I used it on a bathroom sink as the drain line was really gross (almost 50 years of use) and nothing was cleaning it. The Drain King cleaned it faster than I can type. I think Drain King should include a water cut off connector or Amazon put it in the buy with this...Did we need this particular model, probably not. I’m sure we could’ve used the smaller one; however, I wasn’t sure if we would need to go through another pipe, perhaps a clean out pipe.So why only four stars? Can’t give 4 3/4. The attachments for the kitchen sink or bathroom sink, fit neither in our house. I had even purchased one on line that is chrome plated for a just in case, it didn’t fit either. The kitchen sink faucet is a newer model, the bathroom sinks are original. If you are planning on using their sink attachment for the hose, think again and go to the box store to see if they have one to fit your faucet. It’s probably an issue with standard vs metric, or perhaps age of the faucet. We just ran the hose through the bathroom window.

This thing really works!
I had a clogged skimmer line in my pool and this thing really came through for me. It was super easy to use, just hooked it up, plugged it in the hole and turned it on. I blocked the other end of the skimmer line temporarily with a plastic bottle that fit in there while it built up pressure. When I took the bottle out the Drain King blew the debris right out! It worked so good and I couldn't be much more satisfied with this purchase. Rarely do I find a product that is both awesome and affordable. I definitely recommend this to anyone with a stubborn clog.
