Sylvia's Bridal Sampler from Elm Creek Q: The True Story Behind the Quilt 140 Traditional Blocks

I really loved following thus incredible quilt pattern book. I so enjoy making a sampler quilt in various colors. Looking to do this with block of my own choosing .

This book of sampler blocks is very diverse and wonderful. A friend completed the quilt in all shades of blue, white, and beige for a wedding gift to pass down to future generations. It is simply wonderful, and I want to do one in the same color combination. I am a beginner, so I will start by going to a class once a week to get help with some of the samples. I expect I can figure some out myself, but we'll see. I highly recommend this book because of the variety of blocks that can be tried.

I recommend this book to any one who sews, quilts or wants to learn. And if they are fans of the Elm Creek Quilt group, this is a must have. There are many (140) blocks to learn about and learn to sew. Any quilt could be made from one of the blocks, and the number of combinations from this book is endless. The story behind the quilt makes the the novel Jennifer Chiaverini wrote even more enjoyable. With this quilt book, the story of Sylvia's quilt comes alive as you piece blocks that are included in her quilt.

I love all of Jennifer Chiaverini's books! Each pattern is beautifully displayed with concise instructions and a diagram on how to put each one together. The historical information provided adds to the beauty and charm of the book. I love the different patterns, especially the Bridal Bouquet. Her expertise shines in all her books that even beginner's like me are not imtimidated to try but inspired to lovingly re-create each pattern in making my own heirloom quilt. I encourage others to add her quilt books to their collection as well.

It is great to get instructions for blocks that we have read about.

Book arrived in immaculate condition and I am very pleased with it. I would recommend this seller to everyone. The shipping was fast, the packaging was wonderful and the book is better than I expected. For making a sampler quilt this is a great book. It is so fun to make every block different. I don't get bored making this quilt like I have in the past. I'm always working on a different block pattern or am learning a different technique to quilting. It's great!!!

If you quilt, this book will intrigue you. I saw the quilt done at a quilt show and fell in love. I have seen it done on point and laid flat. It would have been nice if the square were on CD and done in Foundation Factory or the pieces were on CD so you could print out the templates but they are there for copying in the back so no big deal. Great to sew while waiting at the doctor's office too; just the right size.

This book replaces one I lost in a devastating flood and I am so very happy to have Sylvia's book back in my quilting library. Now I can continueon the journey of making this wonderful quilt to leave for my Grandsons as an Heirloom.
