The monitoring station is different from the bait station. Can the bait be used in the monitoring used with bait?

you do not put the bait cartridge inside the station until after there are termites in the monitor cartridge unless you want to waste money on bait cartridges.. the weather will ruin the cartridges over time and you will waste the bait so its best to wait until there are termites inside the monitor then switch to the bait cartridge. I serviced this system for years when I serviced homes. wood base in the bottom then the monitor on top .. then once termites are active inside the station then switch to the bait cartridge.

Can the station be purchased without any bait/monitor cartridge? i need to replace 3 damaged stations. i already have the wood bait and tics.

No. But you are always replacing those parts. The weather ruins them. If you only need the cap they are sold separately.

Does it come with termite bait or is it extra?

This one comes with wood base and inspection cartridge. You can put it in the ground as is. The only thing you would need is the actual insecticide cartridges if termite activity appears in the inspection cartridge. If you don't have any termite activity appear, you don't need the insecticide cartridge(s).
