Great surface thermometer. Place in fry pan, turn burner gas to medium high heat; takes approximately ten minutes for fry pan to get to around 400 deg F; then add olive oil and steak or fish. Searing or browning is then just right. No more guessing looking at water drops in the fry pan. Could have used my digital instant read thermometer but you have to constantly turn it on and probe the pan which is too much work.

The pic is after 1 60 min smoke can read it and not very accurate Not sure if it's a defect or bad seal but this company worked at a great pace to replace my item. The 2nd one works great thank you again for the easy to work with company will buy here in the future

This is a great addition to your Blackstone. Generally provides the best reading when placed in the middle of the grill. Glass collects grease easily, but cleans well. Small enough to stay out of the way when using the grill. Seems to be good quality and holds up well so far.

We do not have a temperature gauge on our charcoal grill. This works great setting it on the grill grate letting us know when the coals are the correct temperature for what we are cooking

We use this on our blackstone griddle and I loved the size. It’s large, easy to read, and the “sear” and “grill” wording is very helpful. Keeping it clean should of been a breeze but some moisture got into it early on and then it was no good. Bring on the fog and even outright water bubbling. I don’t think it’s sealed tight enough as we didn’t submerge it in water but I’m going to give it another buy before saying it’s a poor product.

I have a small Weber gas grille that lacks a thermometer. This solved the problem. Sits on the grilling grid and provides reasonably accurate temperature readings. I've had it for about 3 years and it still works fine. I do wish it had an adjustment for calibration. Because it sits under the hood while grilling, it does get splattered with grease and can look a bit tacky, but it is still readable. Great value!

I purchased this analog thermometer for determining the grill temperature. I had high hopes for this product, but it seems to be highly unreliable. I turn on my propane grill and the grill thermometer immediately begins to respond to the temperature rise caused by the fire. This item is literally sitting on the grill right under the fire and it barely moves. I did a long cook ( 8 hours) and this thermometer was 50 degrees cooler than the hood thermometer. How is that possible? This is literally on the grill and it shows a temperature less than the hood thermometer from the grill. Because of the long lead time to come up to temperature and the disparity between the hood thermometer, this CANNOT be recommended as a thermometer. Avoid it.
