The Name of the Wind: 10th Anniversary Deluxe Edition (Kingkiller Chronicle) Review: Beautiful edition - This is a beautiful edition of the book, the red pages look awesome and the illustrations are beautiful. Review: The First Book of the Series - This Is A Deluxe Edition with Nice Additions - I won’t get into this authors way of disappointing his fans regarding the completion of his ONE trilogy. But there’s something about the series that has made it a phenomenon. Why else would I purchase a 10th Anniversary Deluxe Version? Because, it is a very cool fantasy story with characters that stay in your heart! This book is hardcover, very thick with extra bonuses such as the unique artwork and the front and back info from the author. I’ve torn up my softcover because I’ve read this and its sequel so many times. I’ve taken it everywhere to read and re-read it. I think that it contains specimens any CSI lab would love to investigate to see what dust and dirt particles came from. Ill always keep my softcover because its a part of my library after all these years. After all this time, fans are still waiting for this author to finish the trilogy. Why are we waiting? I ask myself that all the time. It’s nuts! How does this guy survive?! But I’ll keep waiting. Because it’s that good. But I’ll still be very upset until it is finally done.

WHY oh WHY did I wait so long to become immersed in the pages of this masterpiece?
Fantasy fan since I was a kid - only the good stuff. Starts with a bright youngster growing up with love in a band of traveling musicians... dumped into the world of homelessness... then acquiring access to the best university to study "the arts." Plenty of twists and turns along the way, written so very well. Honestly, I am always suspicious of the new barrage of YA fantasy books... esp ones with sweeping scantily clad worlds (and teens) and silly stories with saddled dragons (eye roll). Can NOT believe I waited until my 60's to read this!!!! Up there with the best I've read through my life, including GOT, Lion/Witch/Wardrobe, Paksenarian, Potter. Exceptional characters, enough fantasy/magic simmering below to make it exciting, lovely music, and even a little coming-of-age love (that is masterfully done). Although not a fair comparison, it's sort of the excitement of Potter nudged up 20 notches . Just plain old BRILLIANT WRITING. It's been a while since making time to read became a bit of a obsession! Ordered the 2nd book early so I wouldn't have to wait - if you haven't picked this up yet, JUST DO IT. You will immediately be immersed.

Fantastic! but don't hold your breath for the final book
You should know that the author stalled out on book 2 of a 3-part series, and like GRRM, we may never see the ending the author would have written. HOWEVER, it is one of the most beautifully, lyrically written masterpieces of fantasy fiction, and if you can get past the longing for the non-existent final book, you will enjoy it with intense pleasure tinged with only a shadow of regret.

An amazing edition! Definitely worth buying.
I live in South Africa so it travelled a far way, and it's perfect! I love the added info and illustration. Gorgeous edition for a fan of the books. Looking forward to the anniversary edition of Wise Mans Fear! I know a lot of people are upset that the third book hasn't come out yet, but for me regardless I will keep rereading these books, I just love them and I'm happy they exist. Great work was put into this edition and I very much appreciate it.

A Masterpiece of Epic Fantasy Storytelling
The Name of the Wind* is an absolute masterpiece. Patrick Rothfuss weaves a rich, intricate narrative with captivating prose that pulls you into Kvothe’s world from the very first page. The storytelling is exceptional, balancing moments of profound emotion with thrilling adventure. Kvothe himself is a deeply complex and relatable character, and his journey—from his humble beginnings to the epic scale of his legend—is told with such nuance that it’s impossible not to get invested. The world-building is lush and immersive, with its own history, mythology, and magic system that feel both original and fully realized. What sets this book apart is the lyrical quality of the writing, which makes even the quieter moments feel as powerful as the action-packed scenes. It’s a book that rewards patience and attention to detail, delivering an unforgettable experience. An instant classic.

Loved it! Has nice illustrations! Extra useful info in the back!
Great book! There are illustrations throughout that I enjoyed. The back of the book has information on the currencies the characters use, a map, and shows how to pronounce different words. The quality of the book was great and you could hear the pages separating from each other while you turned the page. It had definitely never been flipped through and was completely fresh. I know that might seem unimportant to some, but I really appreciated the stock and quality of paper! I love this book!

I liked the first person perspective and the intriguing training at the university. Also the inclusion of music and the seeking for the true names of things.

Finally received my gorgeous copy of this book late today, even though it should have arrived by the 19th July (crappy royal mail service) yet again. An awful lot of things I get delivered via Royal Mail turn up late/very late. Cannot fault the seller as they immediately sent me an email offering to send another copy or a refund. Book is a beautifully illustrated edition with red sprayed edges and an amazing removable jacket. Will read once and keep as part of my collectable editions, highly recommended.

I already had the book in Spanish (my native language), so I bought it now in it's original language, for my 4 re read of this book. And it's amazing. For the design of the book is really cool, durable, the new map, images add a good value to a new re read. The only problem I had was the front part of the cover was sticky, but I think that was on Amazon or delivery services part. For the read, if you haven't read this book and the second one, and you like fantasy, it is one of the best, easily top ten, Patrick makes the story and characters alive, and makes you feel like you are within the world hearing Kote tell his history. Every re read you find new information, you enjoy again each moment, there are a lot of symbols, theories. The only downside is that we don't have the last and third book of the trilogy but if you aren't impatient, you will enjoy it very much. I will tell you like once I read a review, it's like Harry Potter but, with better story, better magic, and more young adults or adults.
