very happy with this purchase
I consider this a good value and am very happy with the preamp/pick up. If I had a choice of electrifying an acoustic guitar, I would not choose this option. I would not want to cut a hole in my guitar for the preamp. However, the preamp died on my Takamine G guitar. This was the closest size I could find to fit the existing hole. I did need to use part of the old pick up because the existing hole was still too large. The under saddle pickup was a bit thicker than old, but I planned to make a new saddle anyway. Unit sounds great. Some under saddle pickups do not sound good with a bone saddle. It was not the case for me. I did bench test the unit by plugging into an amp to test before installing. I am very happy with this unit and consider it a great value. Even the tuner works well.

OK
Item didn't function when first installed. I had to remove it, tried again and it did. The sound is a bit harsh but can be tamed with effects. OK for the price.

Easy to install - work great no issue - It is a price bargain
This unit comes completely with all necessary parts. A brand new high capacity 9V battery is also included. I I replaced the (original) failing unit with this one. This unit fits well onto existing slot. Upon all parts connected, all works well. Tuner, Piezo transducer, output wiring, output jack.

Hums a Little Too Much
I bought this to use as a pre-amp for a traveling guitar. I wasn't looking for the best quality, but the low frequency hum was still a little unexpected. I can work with it for a traveler, but I don't think I would buy this for a front line guitar.

Best Bang for the Buck!
So I bought this for an older guitar that does not offer a replacement pickup. I was very impressed with how simple it was to install. Luckily the old preamp was almost the same size so I didn’t have to cut out or add any material To the guitar. In about 30 minutes I was done with the complete install. The sound is even better than the original that was installed in my Ibanez. Overall for the price you cannot go wrong. The tuner matches exactly what my portable neck tuner has and is accurate. I will update after I perform with it live but so far I am extremely satisfied with the results. I will try and add some pictures when I have a chance.

I do not get any pickup sound
I replaced the old guitar amp. The tuner is working fine. But I did not get any sound from my guitar amp. I just hear hmm noise. Simply it does not work. Perhaps I received a bad unit. Disappointed.

Not a bad pickup
For the price, this isn't a bad pickup. I liked the fact I only had to cut one rectangular hole in my guitar, and not two. This one has the battery connected to main part of the pre-amp (in the back - you un-clip it and it pivots out to expose the battery). It came with all of the parts that it needed to be installed. It has a fair amount of sound adjustments to it, and has a built in tuner. The bad - NO INSTRUCTIONS AT ALL. No template to measure what size hole you need for the pre-amp. The pickup is hardwired to the pre-amp, so if it fails or didn't work, you can't just replace the pickup. The end pin jack has a plug.Go thru and watch a few You Tube videos if you don't know how to do these kind of installs. I used a Dremel tool to cut the main box, and used a 1/2" wood reamer to cut the end pin hole for the output jack, and a basic drill to drill the holes in the saddle. I was being super careful, and it took me about 1-2 hours total to do the work. Also, make sure to bench test the unit before installing it by plugging it into an amp scratch the pickup (and you can hum at it too) to see if it picks up sound.I installed this onto a Jasmine S34C without any problems. It should fit any standard size guitar without any issue, but double check the sizing before purchasing.

Better than the original Fishman preamp on my acoustic
This product is amazing, for $20 I was able to replace the stock preamp in my Lucero flamenco guitar that had a Fishman preamp that malfunctioned after 2 years. Not only did I fix the problem but it was also an upgrade by offering more features and a nicer Built-in tuner then the original. If you are reasonably handy unscrewing and screwing things, this will be a breeze. As a tip: I used the same screws from the original preamp so that I wouldn't strip the holes.
