It really worked very well for our needs. I was surprised at the quality! Light weight and easy to operate.

Nice little “gadget”
Was looking for something to help cut down a few branches here and there, and to prune a few trees/bushes. This does the job, here are my takeaways. Never used a small chainsaw before so I didn’t know what to expect. The bigger ones have obviously more control of movement and cut because of the power behind it. This one has a good torque. Comes with 2 batteries and a plug-in charger. They charge quickly un about 2 hours or less, and hold the charge for a while. I’ve used it for a couple hours on and off, and it still has a charge. It cuts better a thicker branch (or very small tree) than it does thin ones because of the flexibility and movement you get from the branch itself. So it’s a bit “bouncy”, make sure you have control of both the branch and the chainsaw. Comes with gloves. DO WEAR them. And find better ones too (I’ll be looking: these aren’t that thick or super protective). Reason being, the first cut I made, I was holding on to the branch and I thought it’d just cut through but it bounced back and hit me on the other hand. I was lucky I let go of the trigger fast enough, and that the glove part stopped the chain, cause it put a hole on the glove, and it’d probably have cut my thumb. (Ugh!) That’s my bad, I didn’t expect that recoil; it may probably be a bit of inexperience with such smaller tool, and a bit of the fact that it’s so lightweight and you are the one that needs to have more control over it. That said, it cuts through great, but a lot of smaller branches get ripped a little, and edges aren’t a clean cut. The tip part of the chain cuts better in that sense, so change the angle you’re using it at. Keep your other hand several inches from the cut, for the above reasons! Now the important part: the oil. There’s a little bottle that’s for the oil for you to keep the chainsaw greased. There’s a trick to open it to fill, which I did not think about it until I started pulling and squeezing the tiny vessel: the top part just pulls out, opening to fill. It could be done better or identified in the manual. There is also no place on the chainsaw to put the oil in for it to self-distribute. You actually have to oil the chain itself. How often? I don’t know. It is not explained in the booklet. (This part isn’t addressed at all other than in a small picture at beginning of booklet). And this is the reason for the 4 stars instead of 5. After how many cuts is one supposed to oil the chain?? Speaking of the booklet, there’s not much in there other than for how to change or tighten chain, plus safety/warning info. It should have a bit more detail imho. That all said, I read reviews on a lot of other chainsaw before choosing this one. It also had a plus at time of purchase, a $20 off coupon, and let’s not forget the 2 batteries it comes with. Those were my deciding factors. I picked the pink one cause it matched some of my other tools (silly I know-but reviews were pretty positive on this model). I have no idea how long this tool will last. But for around $50 I’m not complaining too much. I’m glad I figured out the oil bottle, cause I wasted a lot of bar chain oil from my bigger jug just to get the blade oiled, and it’s messy. All in all I like it, and I’d buy it again.

Great value, questionable motor longevity
I bought this saw to bring with me on my motorcycle to help clear downed trails out in the wilderness. The key selling points were the price ($50 for the kit when I purchased), light weight, compatibility with Makita batteries, and compact size. I just received this saw today and took the opportunity to test it out on some firewood rounds that I had in the back yard. I tested it using a not-quite-fully-charged makita 5.0ah battery pack. I made one cut through a 2" maple branch followed by 3 cuts through a 6" maple round. The saw stalled on the first cut through the 6" maple round, but started up again after about 15 seconds and completed the cut. Beside the stall, the cutting performance was good, and smooth. The saw cut easily using normal hand pressure and only chattered minimally when getting started through the log. The saw did not stall on the second cut, but the brushed motor was sparking a lot from the high load. I noticed the saw smelled very hot after the first two cuts, and ran it at idle for several seconds to try to cool it off. I noticed that there was not much air flow coming from the motor when running, it appears that the motor does not have a very big cooling fan, if at all, which will limit this saw's duty cycle. I also noticed that the chain had loosened a bit after the first two cuts, so I re-tightened it and used the included bottle to lubricate the chain with chainsaw bar/chain oil. The third cut performed the same as the previous two, with continued heat smell from the saw. Overall, this saw cuts very well, with some caveats. I would not recommend it for commercial use due to the undersized cooling fan on the motor, I would estimate a duty cycle of about 20% would be the maximum for this saw if you wanted it to last a long time. I didn't use the included batteries for testing but they both made the saw run, which is a good value for this kit. Time will tell if this saw holds up, I am a bit concerned that the motor will burn out due

Zeeksaw Mini Chainsaw 6 Inch Cordless,
If some are getting this, after years of cutting down trees, landscaping - you know what you are getting and can evaluate it well enough. However for a "new" to this person and for the price I got it for - I can recommend it. However, if you are "casual" or clumsy in ANY manner - use it the first time with someone who may mentor you in safety. Yes, it's far smaller than even the smallest gas powered, e.g. 16" chain saw, et alia - however no less dangerous - more so ? - since may take it for granted. So, if the components hold up, motor, batteries, charger, esp past a second season of use - it is a bargain. I had a 4" last season and this spring one batt pk didn't work and could not be fixed, and OEM no longer sells - (get another batt?). However, *this* one even at 21v (vs 36v of other and questioned it anyway!) ... works perfectly and so the charger all interchangeable. (They all appear this year to be 21v and same housing, configuration - generally speaking "generic-china" offering, in my observation, imo.) Anyway, this 6" is great and +- if a 4" is better or not. I was pruning fruit trees last year for 4" was better for that. This year - other stuff and the 6" is generally "better" +-. In any of these if get 2-batts and 2-chains - great. Most probably won't know how to sharpen, and may change to 2nd one - don't hit dirt, esp rocks and will last as-is long enough for the "home" project person. The plastic housing is heavy enough in all the components. This one with the twist nut not requiring a wrench to tighten chain is *great. The "screw" to adjust that further - would do well to provide a thumb adjustment too! The screw is tight and hard to get to - but functional. All in all, pending price point and if it lasts - great purchase imo. - I saw he ones with "oilers" but wondered if worth the + money and etc. On a "real" chainsaw, so to speak, it's a must. Her just keep a can of hand pump engine oil, or a spray as you like. You may likely have to oil the chain 1 - 3 x's per battery and clean it prior to storing. When "new" it *will* stretch (the chain) and settle in and you will have to adjust it in the first hour or so of use. Then should settle down. If it binds more and more and not from the Batt running down - oil it, clean it out, wipe it off when take a break. Again, if it lasts, but since appears interchangeable as commented, this one was the right price and lowest. This whole "power" and amps and volts stuff with this kind of thing, generally speaking is all "iffy" in my experience. This one, rated lower than last years operates/feels more robust all around. If anyone knows math and DC current and test "environments" and etc. - don't count on stuff being up to any precise spec from what I can see. They want them to work, and not bind so will likely make them to be functional - as I see/experience it - look at that with this stuff as I did - it's far less confusing. This one seems, w/o testing it with meters and etc. to be what they say it is. So, good enough in that regard for me - to qualify this of why 5-stars and etc. "over all". It could be better as I said, the blade tension adj screw - external thumb or less tight a spot and some kind of "proper" (proper) oiler would be great. I like that when/if binds (the chain) it stops (a good thing) and mostly when batt runs down - but, just back off or mind proper cutting protocol and keep the fresh batt handy. But at least one won't risk seeing blue smoke - if kept trying to cut like an AC unit may - good self protection I see in these. I hope that helps someone! (PS: for the price of a new batt to replace my old one - got this! And so, 2-batts and add'l charger etc.)
