I have a bunch of wood I wanted the bark off to make some fence post. This thing works like a charm. Great price and even when it dulls eventually it still works. Easy to sharpen. The curved blade is much better and quicker than the straight one that I have.

I was concerned by multiple reviews that said the nuts wouldn't tighten, leaving the handles wiggly. It turns out they're just regular lock nuts with nylon inserts, which means you can only tighten by hand a little bit before you need a wrench to tighten the rest of the way. So... tighten them with a wrench. Easy. Also, there seems to be little consensus on sharpness so I'd like to comment on that. It comes with what I'd call a coarse sharpen. Sharp enough for peeling loose bark off dead wood, but not as sharp as a good knife. If I think of it, I'll update this review after using it on a variety of wood types.

Well made draw knife (some assembly required). It was easy to attach the handles and tighten them down. It would have been beneficial it had come _really_ sharpened (I did mark down to 4 stars for this, especially since sharpening by hand around the radiused blade is a pain.) Overall this is a decent value, and it works great (once it has been properly sharpened).

Works great, YES you have to finish sharpening this tool, not a big deal, I’m happy with my purchase

I purchase a piece of live edge wood for a project and was able to remove the bark with easy without gashes to the wood.
