Great!! but..
These shoes are terrific! They feel much sturdier than Merrells barefoots and have a lot of support around the heel and ankle. Unfortunatly I listened to the other comments and ordered a half-size too big. Thinking they would fit when I got them, WRONG. I should not have listened. UNLESS YOU HAVE EXTREMELY LARGE TOES than order the size you usually wear. They do not run small like what I thought. They are fine. And now I'm stuck with fighting the company that sold them to exchange them! They won't return them! WTF. ahhh thank goodness for ebay.

Great off-road shoes!
I really like the fit. The toe box is nice and wide, but not too wide. The whole shoe fits like a glove! I got these last fall and was having a great time running in them, but then the summer came and it uncovered their one and only weakness: the fabric does not breath very well. The fabric does a good job of keeping moisture from the trails out, but it also does not let any moisture out, so my toes get sweaty and gross inside. Also, the in-sole comes out every time i take them off, no matter how careful i am to untie them...If you live in a cool place or plan on not training in the summer, this is a great shoe! I love how well it grips the ground when I'm running trails. The grips are NOT too much for sidewalks/paved trails. I have ran in both and i have felt great on both. I bought these to replace my Merrell Trail Gloves (which i had totally wore out). I really wanted more GRIP for trails, so i thought I'd venture into these and I'm glad I did. I wear these without socks. NOTE: i already knew my European size, so that made it easy to get the right size on the first try. If you don't know your European size, go to a shoe store and find out by trying on some shoes.

Great for trails
Sizing on these was hard - I had to get a couple sizes before I got the correct one. Every site said something different about them being too big or too small. I wear an 8 in most shoes (an 8 1/2 in my Nike Free running shoes but I like those big) and I settled on the 38 in these. I didn't want any extra room - really wanted them to fit like gloves so when I am going downhill - my big toe sometimes hits the end but it is not at all a problem. I have run roads in Nike Frees (5's) for 2 years - nothing else, but they just picked up too much of the trails in the treads and I felt that there was too much extra shoe. This shoe kept the minimalist feel that I like and added a really great grippy tread. Since I am used to the neutral/minimal shoes, I didn't take time to break them in slowly - but if this is your first time in this type shoe, you likely want to take them for short runs first or you're going to get sore calves. No blisters when I took them right out of the box and ran for 1 1/2 hours. I will wear them with socks - they're not super breathable so my feet got sweatier than usual. In the winter, they will probably be perfect and for now, I can handle a little sweat. Love the navy - they're a great looking shoe.

A good trail shoe if you like minimalist running shoes
I have used Vivobarefoot shoes for running for a few years. I like being able to feel the trail, but most of the shoes are slippery and difficult in mud. So far this shoe is an improvement for trail running. I can still feel the trail, but the sole is a bit more grippy. I did order a size up. My last pair of Vivobarefoot shoes was a 37 and they were a little tighter than I like. I wear a 7 or 71/2 women's shoe and the 38s are better for me.I give these a four star rating because they were comfortable on the first run and an improvement in traction over the last pair, but they are still a bit slippery and I haven't had them long enough to know how well they will hold up to a lot of trail running.

Great shoe, bad sizing
I read a lot of WONDERFUL reviews of these shoes and was very excited to buy a pair. I have a pair of barefoot running shoes by another brand, but the trails where I live have a lot of loose rocks. The treads on the Neo look great for the conditions. The sizing is European, and translates into only whole US sizes. I typically wear a 7.5 in shoes. The 37 (7) was a bit too short but the width fit well. The shoes fit, but just walking around my apartment in them, I felt that if I was running downhill, my toes would uncomfortably jam into the toe of the shoe. I also don't think thick socks would be an option with that size. I exchanged the first pair for a 38 (8) and the shoe was much too big - too long and too loose. So I think if you wear a half size, you may have to try another brand. It's unfortunate because looking at both pairs I ordered, the shoes are very well made. They are light, have great treads, tie tightly and have a nice fit around the ankle.

Like these a lot
I got these on super-sale, and I'm definitely glad I did because they feel a bit cheap. They don't look cheap on, but they're so lightweight that they don't feel all that substantial holding them in your hand. They're not as roomy in the toe-box as my pair of Merrell Pace Gloves, but they're much more stylish. The colors are great (purple and yellow) and the sole feels sturdy, as in no rocks poking through but the studs on the bottom make them feel a bit like cleats when you're inside or on concrete. They have a good amount of bend/flexibility to the front half and fit my feet well.

great fit except for pointy toe
I bought this a half-size larger to wear with socks when its too cold for 5fingers. It's well made and fits snugly without being too tight (my heel doesn't slip and my forefoot isn't cramped- but I did get a half-size larger...). The only thing I would change is the pointy toe. I would love it if they made a version with a wide, rounded toe box. That said, it's got great ground feel for a shoe with a little more cushion and the traction is fantastic on steep, skittery trails. Overall its a great shoe in the "no-heel, more ground feel" category.

Different colors fit differently
I bought the purple/sulphur pair in 42 and it fit perfectly! (I'm a solid size 10) So comfortable and cute. I feel a bounce in my step whenever I put them on. I figured I could order a pair in black and have a more versatile, go-to comfort shoe. But the black 42 (even though it is also made in China) doesn't seem like the same shoe. Wider and more duck-like. Definitely a 10.5 if not 11. Not cute. I wish I knew which colors were made in the same factory as the purple ones, cuz I would buy others.

Narrower toebox then older Vivobarefoot models
I have been wearing Vivobarefoot shoes almost exclusively now for a year or two. I bought this pair for my Mom who is now a fan as well. Unfortunately it appears that newer Vivobarefoot shoes are not nearly as wide at the toes as the older models are. These are definitely pointy at the toes and so cram my toes together. This is a real shame, I truely hope that Vivo shoes won't all become like other 'normal' shoes that I was so happy to not to have to wear anymore. The thin soles are a nice touch, but it is the round toebox that was the most important feature of these shoes for me. Admittedly the round toed shoes I have do look a bit unusual, they aren't the most fashionable or elegant, but they are very comfortable and they don't hurt my toes. It's too bad that Vivobarefoot seems to be sacrificing the barefoot shape for more conventional looks.I gave it 3 stars because the shoes are well made and for people with the right foot shape these might be ideal.

Great shoe, but the fit has changed.
I bought a pair of these about two years ago, after reading about the idea of barefoot running and walking on the Vivobarefoot website. I have been wearing them all the time they are so comfortable. I find they are great for walking unless very cold or very wet. In fact I hate using my walking boots now they are so heavy and I dislike the heel and feeling of being overbalanced forward, especially when carrying a rucksack. I have wide feet at the front so the generous toe box on my old pair was absolutely great. These more recent pairs have been changed quite a lot it seems to me, narrower with a smaller toe box, so they are no good for me at all, I returned them. Luckily I have managed to buy up a couple of pairs of older stock to keep my feet happy. From my point of view I wish Vivobarefoot had not altered an excellent product. Although they are not advertised as waterproof my feet have kept dry in rain, shallow puddles and walking through long grass. If I could have an improvement on my old style pair it would be that the lugs on the sole wear less quickly, but without altering the flexible feeling they have.

I like them and the color is nice
I like them and the color is nice, that yellow part not really but it is ok , they are comfortable and warm for the english winter, but they are not really water-resistant I test them when the rain was really strong, but only some part of my sock was wet what is ok if the rain is normal they will be ok
