Expensive not worth its price

You can clearly see in the photo these are brand new I just took the cardboard wrapping off them and there is a large hole where the tilt pocket meets the rest of the sock both of them this is the second pair that I've received the first pair I sent back because the toe pocket after 3 weeks of wearing them was literally gone my tool an adjacent to were sticking out. These aren't inexpensive socks these are supposed to be higher quality Merino hiking socks I'm rather shocked that the quality has diminished this much. The other socks that I have I've checked them and one other pair has really poor stitching for the toe pocket I don't expect them to last so it's like do I return these ones or do I fix them myself I don't understand quality control or lack of.

I bought for wearing in work boots. Comfortable, warm and holding up so far. I wash them inside out and although it says do put in dryer I do. Hasn't had no effect on them. Been looking for a decent pair of socks for work boots, and may have just found them

Best to hand wash these socks as they are wool. Washing machine will be to hot. Don’t put them in the dryer.

Likes - The warmth and soft texture as well as the thickness which is well-used during those winter days and nights. I have some work boots I like to wear these with and the socks easily reach the top of the boots. I would have preferred a couple extra inches of length to keep my legs really warm. Dislikes - The color selection is nice but I would have preferred a single color selection as well.

I purchased these socks because they were listed as 55% merino wool. Per the tag on these, they are actually Wool 30%, Polyester 45%, Spandex 15%, Cotton 10%. I won't be purchasing these again.
