Long lasting, inespensive element
Have 4 in a 600 gallon tank, just now had one go out after 3 years and many brews. We see around 6-7 degree per hour rise per element w/ 300 gallons.

Very Easy To Install
I changed from the wired elements as this is easier to disconnect just by unplugging and then removing and the cord doesn't have to be dragged with it to clean in the sink. I got the 2 inch version and it works great. For some reason I get less gunk on these elements and the stuff doesn't seem to stick to them as much as the other ones I replaced. I put a silicone O-ring over the prongs and when you plug in the cord the O-ring fills the small gap where the connection is made, so if water somehow gets near this it won't get into the connection. I really like mine and I would buy these again.

Good so far
We use this product on our three barrel brewhouse. We have brewed with this element about eight times now and it has remained in better shape than the units that originally came with the uni we use this product on our three barrel brewhouse. We have brewed with this element about eight times now and it has remained in better shape than the units that originally came with the system. Also the nine or $10 plug that is recommended works very well too. Much better than spending $40 a plug at the local hardware store. I recommend for people seeking a like use “.

Great heating element, but not great for Brewing beer
Great heating element, but not great for Brewing beer. I've scorched my wort and made it taste like an ashtray. Ideally, what you want is the Ultra Low Watt Density (ULWD) heating element that won't scorch when there's concentrated levels of sugar collecting around it.

Stainless steel element heats water quick!
Works perfect for my 1.5in triclamp for my mash ton/kettle. This allows me to boil water much faster than my old 120v setup. Easy to clean with a little bit of steel wool, doesnt hurt the element at all. I'll buy again if I need another.

Multiple failures
I have purchased many of these for my brewery. Initially I had several failures, including scorched wort and burnt elements. Eventually it led to fry the receptacle on my control panel and melt away two brand new cables. I wouldn't recommend using these for brewing beer.

Clean the contacts before use
Bought this element to replace a Brewer's Hardware element after my socket melted. This element did the same thing to a new socket.Solution ended up being to clean the contacts with steel wool or sandpaper. Confirmed with a multi-meter that conductivity was bad prior to cleaning, and good following cleaning.
