Q: How high is the cross bar on the sides and how wide is that opening?Will toilet paper holder on the wall affect the positioning of this?

I can tell you this is one of the best things I have bought for my dad. Since rhe toilet stand is at his house, I can only give you the dimensions. The sides stand 25.5 in. tall. Width at bottom is 28 in. Width from hand rail to hand rail on top is 21 in. Depth is 19 in. My dad is 5' 5 1/2" and it is perfect for him. His toilet paper holder is on end of the vanity which is right next to the toilet. Not sure how yours being on the wall would affect anything. If for some reason it did not work, you could buy a stand alone toilet paper stand, which would look nice and be convenient. I hope this helps.

Q: If a person looses their balance and grabs one side will this unit tip over causing a fall?

I can't be sure. If the full weight of the person is placed against it, it would definitely tip and possibly facilitate a fall. I always hold on to both arms when I sit down and to help me, at the beginning, when I stand up. The spread of the legs and its solid build are the reasons that I bought it.

Q: My husband uses a rollator walker. Would he be able to back up all the way to the toilet seat with the rollator and then use this to lower down?

The space between the rails is 20 1/2 inches, but the bar on the floor goes right up to the front of any toilet and touches the toilet so I don't see why it would not work. Additionally, you can raise or lower the side rails for the correct height for your husband. (It is also easy to put together.)
