Another amazing Eve product
This is the sixth Eve device I install in my house after a couple Eve Room, Eve Motion, and Eve Door & Window sensors. This beautiful, clean-design device can be added to the Eve and Home app within seconds. Works seamlessly with other HomeKit products. I had to install it nearly close (4 meters apart) to my Apple TV, which is doing the home hub stuff. It takes a little bit to show the real time temperature in the Home app, but it's just two seconds. Take into account that air pressure is not officially supported in HomeKit as a measurement, therefore, the Home app doesn't show it.Battery came almost dead, so make sure you have a CR2450 battery ready to use. Use a coin, not a screwdriver to open the battery cover.

Attractive and works well - But expensive and requires Apple TV
I bought this to work with my smart plug which is connected to the dehumidifier. I set an automation so that if the device detects a humidity of 60% or above in the room, the dehumidifier turns on until it reaches 45% or below, at which point the switch for the dehumidifier is turned off. For this purpose it seems to be working well!It is a very small and attractive unit - inconspicuous and will blend into any room. I have other cheaper thermometers and the temperature is more accurate than the others. It was also super easy to add to HomeKit and the Home app. There are drawbacks though:1. Compared to other humidistats, it is slightly slower to detect changes. This isn’t a huge issue as it doesn’t matter if there’s a slight lag.2. This is an expensive unit for what is essentially a thermometer and humidistat that can send this basic data to your phone. You could save a lot of money by using a non-HomeKit solution.3. It works by Bluetooth, so the range is very limited when compared with WiFi. Your phone would need to be relatively nearby.4. To create automations with other devices, or even access the temperature and humidity data live from outside your home, you’ll need to invest in an Apple TV or a recent iPad that you leave at home. This is because a Hub is needed to get it communicating with other devices in your home. I have an Apple TV so it’s OK - but it’s an important note to make before buying. All in all I am happy with this in my current setup, but believed I paid a bit more than I should’ve.

All-round perfection.
A beautiful, neat and well designed piece of kit. Set up in seconds. Nice graphs in the app too. Works seamlessly with the HomePod and other HomeKit products; and the iPhone & iPad - of course. I'm not an Apple junkie but, let's face it, their stuff and their approved accessories just work. Not cheap, but you get what you pay for.Going to buy another one for the living room..

More issues than my ex-wife; kinda works..for 3 days, before you need to replace battery. AVOID.
Bugs/issues/workarounds:-1. The battery it arrived with was flat. Had to order batteries for it. More on batteries later..2. The plastic on the battery cover is very soft, a coin will easily mangle it. Use a big enough coin and go carefully.3. Replacing the (new) battery (you just brought) to make this thing work, seems easy. But the battery cover does NOT fit back (the two lugs are blocked) until you fit the sealing gasket on the removable cover itself (not the main unit) before you attempt to replace the battery cover. If you don't do this, one of the two lugs on the battery cover will always snag the wrong side of the gasket - causing a bulge when it's closed and improper seal. If you do it wrong, closing the battery cover will also requires excessive force when not fitted correctly, thereby mangling the battery cover further. This is a LOT more fiddly than it sounds as there is no retaining groove for the gasket on the battery cover, so as soon as you tip the cover upside down it falls off. No, you can't do it upside down, because you can't see if the gasket is seated properly, and it probably won't be unless you're REALLY careful.4. Battery life is always ACTUALLY correctly shown - if you brought batteries that weren't stale. This is a big point of contention for a lot of reviewers. But if your battery level shows <100% after installing 'new' ones, you just got ripped off by the battery vendor and got sold stale battery stock on Amazon and report it as such.It took me 3 goes to get legit batteries (most Chinese ones are around 30-40%). In the end the ones which were reputable fresh stock were 'Energiser'. Funny that, not no-name Chinese ripoffs... So yea, please don't slate this device until you're checked your 'new' batteries weren't half discharged duds... Its actually testament to the battry circuit in this device that it is so sensitive. Use it as a Lithium battery tester :)Other:-So, wrinkles/common user-misunderstandings aside, it actually works great, and side-by-side with 3 other sensors, it reads identically to those. So no accuracy issues. All the above wrinkles/issues have been designed out in the 'sister' Elgato Room indoor sensor, so I guess at some point they'll be an eve Degree v2 which will pull this forward.I have it stuck on the back of my RV, which has full Home-kit automation, sockets which measure power-draw etc, security cameras, motion-detection etc. and having accurate localised weather data is important to me as I am a keen angler. The battery works to -10c easily (I tested it by leaving it in my freezer for 24 hours!). Anybody who reports batteries failing in cold probably just got sold defective Chinese ones. It isn't the device at fault.PS. My range is just fine with fresh batteries! I suspect the redesign of the Eve Home temperature sensor to have built-in USB-chargable batteries is actually done to prevent dodgy Chinese vendors making this device appear bad. It is not... But Elgato should explain that - and it doesn't help that they shipped it with a dead battery - which is GUARANTED 90% of people will inadvertantly buy defective batteries from Amazon. Wake up Elgato and talk to your customers...So considering the above observations, I actually HIGHLY RECOMEND this highly accurate reliable device.Good luck finding a Chinese battery seller that isn't ripping you off with illegal 'half dead' batteries. If you buy replacement batteries at a shopping mall or something, you're guaranteed fresh stock because of high sale rates. Chinese vendors in general are cancer on Amazon and should all be banned.HOWEVER, even with good battery's, that installs at 100%, but this device will wreck them in 3-5 days. It's total unusable garable. AVOID.
